Has anyone ever had blood lab work come back with high liver enzyme levels? Are you on any type of medication? Do you take a supplement?

Thanks,
Lavina

My labs came back in the first year with high liver enzymes and my doctor monitored it but wasn't concerned. Its since gone down, so I'm not sure why it all happened. What does your doc say?

I was having some denatl issues and had to get a root canal so I was taking alot of motrin for pain and antibiotics right before I got the lab work done. So the doctor just suggested we give it a month or so and do the labs again.

High liver enzymes is not unexpected after WLS, especially during the first 2 years and rapid weight loss stage.  Fat is metabolized in the liver, so your liver is working overtime.  Vitalady suggests taking milk thistle for this.

On a personal note, my liver enzymes were elevated for the first 18 months and have since returned to normal.
