The NIGH****CHMAN - 5/10 - Monday
On th upside, of course, the Rangers. Went to games Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturdays game had a lot of playing tag with Sandi B. and neither one of us being "it". Both kept missing calls, never did catch up to her. But we did get to see a good game. Sunday was spent with my wife and my daughter's family at the Ballpark. How great are these wonderful women to choose to spend their special day with me at the Ballpark because they know that is where I would like to be?
Now the downside. My coworker Geraldine had WLS last week. They had to go back in the next day because of seepage. Then, she was not the best patient. She was trying to rip the IVs out of her arm. They sedated her and restrained her. We visited on Saturday and she was sedated, but we got to meet her husband and talk with him. Sunday, I called her husband and he said she was fussing. So I said "She must be getting better." He told me to call her cell. I did and the first thing she told me was she was sorry she ever did this. I told her lots of people are the first few days after. I told her to check with me in three months, after she has lost 50 lbs or so. So, please keep her in your prayers.
On Thursday, my friend/church deacon passed away. He had had a bone marrow transplant. His body accepted the marrow, but revolted against the meds. They kept him alive long enough for his son from California to come in. After they stopped the meds, he died two days later. At peace with the Lord. Mary went to the funeral this morning. She said it was standing room only. I wouldn't expect less, Rod was a great man. He will be missed by his family, his friends, and his church. He worked out at the Ballpark and will be missed terribly out there.
Sorry so long, but I needed to put my feelings in words, if not for you, for me.
Now to the requests.
Just a reminder, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.
If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested). Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Vivian - Niece, Tressa is a severe diabetic. Now has kidney failure also. Another niece, Kim, is trying to decide which WLS to have. She needs prayers also that she will make the right decision for herself that she will loose the much needed weight so she will be free from her diabetes ( doesn't run in her family ).
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I'm so sorry for the hurtful words that Geraldine told you - first thing......but in time - she'll be okay.........All we can do is pray for her...............I'm thinking the reason she was fighting and fussing was "pain meds" do wierd things to people.....and like me.....if you are NOT use to getting them...........your body does strange things..........reactions.....say things you don't mean.....etc...................It will get better -hopefully for her sake. Of course - being in PAIN does that too....and if she doesn't have any tolerance of any pain...no wonder they had to retrain her.....
Okay - on to the Rangers.................GO RANGERS !!
How great are these wonderful women to choose to spend their special day with me at the Ballpark because they know that is where I would like to be? Who else would they rather be with other than family on a Sunday afternoon? lol
Saturdays game had a lot of playing tag with Sandi B. and neither one of us being "it". Both kept missing calls, never did catch up to her. GO FIGURE....You can't keep that girl in one spot anyway. I want what she is on.......lol
- Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose. Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email. I'll answer it as soon as possible.

George, I am sorry that things weren't so good this weekend. I can so understand why Geraldine feels the way she does. It is hard when you have complications. I hope that she gets to feeling better soon. After your response this weekend... I thought she was doing better.
My weekend was nothing major. I did a lot of cleaning... and got myself back on track.
Prayers for everyone that needs them.

Sorry to hear about Rod. Never easy...
Another busy week in store for me this week. Three days of therapy on my stupid leg again this week. I went today and then again on Wed. and Fri. Wed. night we have underclassmen awards for both Heather and Viktoria. Both girls were nominated by someone (a teacher) for a specific award. We know who nominated each one of them for at least one award. If the student is getting at least one, the parents are mailed a letter stating they have been nominated for an award and they will be revealed on Wed. the 12th so they keep it a secret. Of course, a teacher can let the cat out of the bag, which one emailed us for Viktoria's and one told us for Heather's. Now, with Heather's, we know she is getting at least two awards because the letter was sent out before the teacher who told us she was nominated by her had even sent in the award request. Very nice for her, that's for sure. Heather has been selected for some kind of an award every year since she's been there. The seniors have their awards on a separate night so this is the last year for both girls having awards on the same night!
Our neighbors to the west of us got two new yellow Lab puppies who are only 7 weeks old. OMG they are adorable!!! They are brother/sister and will be trained by our neighbor for their hunting dogs. Guess they want more than one dog out there, plus, I think he knows it takes a couple years to get them fully trained. It is amazing to watch that dog that he has trained already. He just waves his hand a particular way and the dog responds. Another dog can be walking by and whatever he says plus whatever hand signal he gives her, she just sits there and doesn't move. No noise from her, either! She is such a nice dog!!! She is a big ol' black Lab. Now, the other neighbor on the other side had a separate area fenced off within her backyard and is keeping her son's dog in there. That dog barks ALLLLLL freakin' day. I'm not happy with that dog anyway as I am scared to death of it. It's a pure bred Pitbull. Sorry, I just don't trust them AT ALL! I won't let Schnitzel in our side yard for now, either, until my dad comes down here because there are a few gaps at the bottom of the fence and if my dog happens to be down there sniffing and that Pitbull latches on to him, that's it for my pooch. Dad is going to have to add a long kick board along the fence to cover the gaps. I told my mom, "well, she must not trust the dog either because she had that fenced in area built for the dog. She doesn't want that dog in the house with her dog during the day when she's gone...probably because she knows the other dog could turn on hers. Her son isn't living there (that we know that is...) so maybe all that barking got him in trouble where he currently is living. There is no way I will put up with constant barking!!! UGHHH!
Ok, time to go start making lunches and finishing laundry!
