just had surgery

i just had the gastric sleeve wednesday. I am having some tough times with the fluid intake and the liquid diet anyone out there that can give me some advise?

I didn't have the sleeve, but one commonality all WL surgeries have is the need for fluids. If you CAN sip and swallow, keep it up...just sip sip sip sip sip, etc. If for some reason it will NOT GO DOWN, please contact your surgeon IMEDIATELY. Dehydration is nothing to play around with, and can be fatal. Not to scare you...well..maybe just a little...so you won't waste too much time....

 What type of problems are you having??  Is it getting in enough fluids??  If that is the case....I think that is pretty normal.   If you are having problems with swallowing and keeping things down do as Gina said and either call your surgeon or go to the ER.   You can dehydrate very quickly.....that is why it is so important to get down as much fluid as possible.   Have you tried the Necture brand proteins???  Have been told that they are excellent and not as sweet as the milk based ones.   Congrats on your sleeve and good luck to you with the fluids.

i am just having problems consuming so much liqued. I am not hungry but man the food the wife and kids are eating looks so darn good. wonder if i will ever get to eat again or just drink theses nast protien shakes .

how about some sugar free popsicles or SF drink mix frozen in the ice cube tray? And plain ice cubes work too. You could also make sno cones with the blender.
