I am 5 "2,  208 lbs, 25 yr old had a baby 8 months ago. I orginally was 175 before I had my baby. Just wandering if I would qualify for the insurance to pay.

It depends on what plan your employer or whomever has - are there any "exceptions" on the policy.....

Does your doc of choice / hospital of choice have their own criteria?

Any co-morbidities  - What is your BMI ?

Just have to check those things out.
  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

At your age and relatively light weight,  I doubt if you would qualify. But, if you are wondering, call and ask your insurance - won't hurt!

I think most places want you to have a long history (2-4 years I think) of being morbidly obese...since you gained 38 lbs during the pregnancy, you may not have a long enough history.  Plus if you have only been MO for 8 months, they may not think you have enough proof of failed dieting over the years.    Like others said though, check w/ your insurance and see what their qualifications are.
