High liver enzyme results back on Labs...
So I had my 3 month labs drawn last Tuesday and saw Dr. Green this morning. So yes the numbers look sorta OK EXCEPT...
Alkaline Phosphatase 267 (Normal range from lab sheet 30-132)
SGOT (AST) 274 (Normal range 5-35)
SGPT (ALT) 266 (Normal range 7-56)
Now...Dr. Green stated that when we are in the rapid weight loss phase that the liver enzymes tend to be 'little higher' then the normal. I freaked out in the office and panic attack this early afternoon because they are more then just a 'little higher.' Dr. Green said that we will retest them in 3 months to see where they are and then he will decide if I need to see a liver specalist (that's all I need ANOTHER doctor added to my list.) So during my little panicy (yes I know it's probably not a word) afternoon I called my PCP's nurse and my PCP is seeing me next week on Tuesday now.
Please tell me not to worry. I've already had 3 RNs (including my mom) and my surgeon tell me it might not be the biggest deal. Yet I'm still not a content person. Wait when am I ever.

I'll tell you again, DO NOT worry. I've seen it posted on OH hundreds of time, yes high liver enzymes are noted for many during rapid weight loss. Let your body settle in a bit and in 3 months have your labs ran again. I've seen a few even go through biopsies to find nothing, once their weight leveled out the liver enzymes did too.
