Good Morning Train!

WOOOHOOO for Monday!  I'm up and at 'em and going strong... had a busy Saturday and no Becca time on Sunday... but I survived and I'll make time for snuggles during the week!

Prayers are going up for all that need them!

How about some Loggins & Messina this morning? Yes? Then, 'Your Momma Don't Dance' it is!

Your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
Your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
When evening comes around
And it's time to go to town
Where do you go
To rock and roll

Well, the old folks say
That ya gotta end your date by ten
If you're out on a date
And you bring it home late it's a sin
You know there's no excusin'
You know you're gonna lose and never win
I'll play it again

And it's all because
Your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
Your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
When evening comes around
And it's time to go to town
Where do you go
To rock and roll

You pull into a drive-in
And find a place to park
You hop into the backseat
Where you know it's nice and dark
You're just about to move in,
Thinkin' it's a breeze
There's a light in your eyes
And then a guy says
"Out of the car, Longhair"
"Louise, you're comin' with me
And no more movies"

And it's all because
Your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
Your mama don't dance
And your daddy don't rock and roll
When evening comes around
And it's time to go to town
Where do you go
To rock and roll
Where do you go
To rock and roll
Where do you go
To rock and roll

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

Good morning, family! Great song, KAREN, as always! Busy week in my world, but going to do my best to jump on the train every morning-can't bear the thought of it drying up and blowing away.

Heading out in a few minutes to attend what will be my SIXTH week of boot camp-a LIFETIME first for me-I've NEVER stuck to any exercise program this long. Who even KNEW I had butt muscles that COULD hurt?

I'll try to pop in later and catch up on everyone's news, so please post and let me know what's going on with YOU!

If you are having trouble staying on track, need some accountability, or need some great meal ideas, check out KARLA's "Marvelous May" thread"

Hope everyone has a GREAT Monday!

Good morning.  Great song Karen!

Thanks for the advertisement Nurse Diva Gina...coming at the right time because I've been thinking so few people are posting on the accountability post that why was I bothering to do it here on OH...I could do it elsewhere.  Guess I'll keep it up as long as people will continue to post.   I wish more people were making a concerted effort to be accountable.  I sure try to do it and hop on the train each day.  I'm planning on finishing up my folder's to turn in to my office today.  Yeah!

Prayers for all who need them.  Have a great Monday!

Yea Monday!  I'm now officially one week out of surgery!!!  I'm doing good, but getting a little more tired the last few days-need more naps!

I'm going to take 2-3 walks outside, 2 naps and even  more exciting - I'm taking a trip out!

Yesterday as I sat on my couch, I've discovered it is NOT comfortable!!!  I looked over at my poor mom who is here taking care of me and she had a pillow under her rear and one behind her back.  So, I'm doing what I chickened out before surgery to do and going back to Bassett for that couch and recliner I really wanted!!!  I just hope they can deliver soon because that thing is UNCOMFORTABLE!

Had a hard time sleeping last night I was so excited

Way to go Gina on the bootcamp!!!  I used to love bootcamp and feel like I accomplished so much when I finished!!!  You go girl!

Good Morning all! Had a great weekend! Spent Friday night in some fantastic Blues clubs in Austin. Spent Saturday at teh Pecan Street Festival and hooked up with Liz, Anne and her husband MIke. Had a fun time and then more Blues on Saturday night! Slept in at the hotel til 10:00 Sunday then drove home and got a lot of work done inside and outside the house!

Had a little disturbing episode on Sunday at lunch. Maybe some nursies or vets can offer suggestions. The first thing I ate at lunch was a couple of Brussel Sprouts. After about three bites (and I called myself chewing it well) I felt that "hung" sensation. I sat up straight, took a few sips of tea and knew it had to come out! So off to the restroom I went and heaved it all out, or so I thought. Was able to take a few more bites before my pouch area got really hard and started hurting. I boxed up the food and went to the car while Bill was paying. Got there and was overcome by nausea, started heaving and threw up again. I was down for the count in the car and so nauseated I thought I was gonna have to get him to pull over! Managed to eat a couple bites of baked fish about 7:00 last night, but was again feeling a tighness, almost hard area in my pouch area and got really nauseated again. Went to bed and woke up about 2:00 with heartburn from hell!!! haven't had that happen in a  long time! Still feel just "not right" this morning. Liquids seem to be going in fine, but I had a couple bites of Toasted English Muffin and got the same nauseating feeling. I'm also very bloated and stomach is making noise like crazy, even before I put a sip in it this morning! I did go to the restroom this morning and looked like there was undigested food in my stool (TMI, sorry) My surgeon is in Dallas, so not sure if one here would see me or not???? Anybody have a suggestion or had anything like this before? Yall know I am over 4 years out, but I did have a stricture at 5 weeks out. It is kinda the same feeling, but not exactly. I feel very lethargic and tired.

I'll be eagerly awating feedback!! Hugz and prayers for all those in need!

AH, you took me down memory lane.  For years I knew if I ate brussel sprouts that I would end up getting rid of them.  It wasn't until after I had my fistula fixed that I can eat brussel sprouts.

Sounds like an EGD may be in your future. Or, stay away from brussel sprouts.  I could avoid certain foods and not have to throw up as often.  But with the fistula, I did have to get rid of foods just about every day.

best wishes to you

Good morning all!  I had an awesome weekend that definitely did not last long enough.  Jeff and i headed out of town Friday after he got off work.  Took us about an hour to get from Plano to outside of Dallas, then it was smooth sailing all the way to Canyon Lake.  We got to the house around 9:30, and other than trying to drive on winding roads in the pitch black night it was no problem.  The house we stayed at was on top of a hill with an amazing view of the other hills around.  The stars were out, and it reminded me of how little we get to see in town due to all the lights.  My parents and their traveling buddies were already there, so we sat around talking for a while then went to bed.

Saturday we got up, puttered around for a bit, enjoyed the birds chirping and a perfectly peaceful morning.  Mom, Dad and I went for a walk down and up the hill.  I had to stop way more often than I liked to catch my breath, but we got to see some gorgeous wildflowers along the way.  After everyone got up and had breakfast we went out to an auto museum.  Very cool, old cars.  Then we went to a BBQ place and had lunch.  Next on the agenda was shopping in Gruene.  We spent several hours wandering around the shops, had some tea at a tea shop and then wandered some more.  Jeff found a shot glass there, so we've got another to add to his collection.  We were all pretty worn out by then so we picked up some frozen pizzas and headed back to the house.  Another night of hanging out enjoying each others company and a drive around the top of the hill rounded out a very nice day.

Sunday Mom, Dad, Jeff and I went to breakfast at a great little cafe in Sattler.  I sure miss spending time with them and can't wait till Dad retires and they can move back down here.  Then Jeff and I piled in the car and headed back to Dallas.  We were both pretty worn out by the time we got home, but it was a wonderful weekend!  Today is a normal work day for me.  Trying to knock a bunch of stuff out today so I don't have to worry about it tomorrow.  I meeting my team at Cici's tomorrow for lunch, then we're going bowling.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Good morning. I'm fairly sure I have an ulcer, so will hopefully have an EGD today to see what's up. Until that's officially scheduled, I'm going to try not to eat anything as it's excruciating to swallow solids. Hopefully whatever it is can be handled quickly and non-invasively. I'm to freakin' busy to have downtime right now!
Had a great time with friends yesterday. Can't wait to hang out soon.

Hey You Guys!

Crazy busy week last week and then onto a crazy busy weekend.

Let's see...Friday I took Kaylee to get her nails done for prom. Later on I got super busy at home cleaning and doing yard work and at about 9 ish I got ready and went to Billy Bob's to see Wade Bowen. Saturday I took Kaylee to get her hair and makeup done and ran a bunch of errands. Saturday was prom so we followed a limo around like papparazzi. In between though we got Bailey her bunny. We didn't get to bed until after 2. Then yesterday we did fencing for the dog and the horses. It was a busy day again.

Kaylee was stunning Saturday night. I will post pictures asap. Everything turned out just perfect. It was such relief!

Saturday we picked out a baby lop eared bunny. Her name is Zoey. Of coarse all the kids keep fighting over who gets to hold her. For right now she has a cage and a litter box and gets to roam a bit (supervised of coarse). We are going to try to litter box train her. I think its working.  She's all black except for grey fur on the undersides of her feet. She will lay on her back and let us rub her belly like a dog. She's adorable! Daisy, Kaylee's dog, just sits and stares at Zoey. Saturday evening she disappeared and we found her just sitting in Bailey's room staring at Zoey thorugh the cage. She follows her around the house and sniffs her, but that's about it.

The chickens have doubled in size and someday probably in the next 6 months (lol) we will have fresh eggs. They are very tame as well. There is one that when you rub her chest she will crane her neck up really high so you can scratch more. They all have a spot on their necks that when you rub for a minute or so they will fall asleep. I'm hoping that when they do start laying eggs that they will be tame enough to let us in their coop. Or at least rub their neck to put them to sleep!

Bailey's pyscho cat has been so mad lately. I figure that between the chicks and now Zoey that he has a right. I am just hoping that he gets so angry that he finds a NEW home for himself. I call him her bipolar cat- one minute he will be purring and loving on her and then out of nowehere he just goes nuts and bites and scratches. She just takes it in stride and tries to calm him down. I'm ready to put him on meds, but the thought of spending money on HIM at a vet just doesn't sit well. (any other animal I'd gladly pay for).

Gotta get to work...  enough about my menagerie.....lol

Love you guys!
Tracey
