Has it been a month already!
I'm doing pretty good, I wish I was all healed but the truth is this stuff just takes it's own sweet time.
It is hard for a man to ask for help but fortunately I'm not shy, and since I had a little problem with infection earlier I am now more than willing to let my body heal, and ask someone to help!!.
I took my boat out this weekend and a buddy had to do all the spring cleaning and lugging the gear, and of course I had to wear my long sleeve compression garment over my arms and I even bought a funky straw cowboy hat to keep my face shaded. Luckily I live in Texas, so the hat doesn't look out of place. I just never have wore hats so that in it self has taken some getting used to.
Still a little sore in the elbows and arm pits, from my arm lift, and my face and neck seem to be healing up nicely.
All in all I would say everything is doing well, I'm already saving for my last round of PS with Dr. Sauceda. So that is my recommendation. Yes I would go back and I am going Back!!

Go**** seem like yesterday....I too am saving for mexico.
You and Char from MD had surgery within a week of each other...I have been researching his site.
Other than needing a passport, which Ive never had one of, tell me more about the money part of PS...Char said something to the fact that he reimburses your travel money...did I read that correctly?
You dont hafta respond here if you would rather PM me that will be fine...im so hopeful that I can get a lower body lift and store bought boobs....lol
How many days were you there?
How many days did you need off from work?
Did you take bottled water...?, you know the old saying, dont drink the water. ;)
How far out from WLS are you?
Do they take American insurance? Some of my surgery may be covered under Ins. not sure yet.
Did you take anyone with you?

You ask some really great questions, and I will try to answer them but do yourself a favor and check out the OH group Dr. Sauceda's Patients and read the stickies There is a wealth of information there, as well as his website,
In order for him to reserve your date You buy a plane ticket and that acts as your deposit.
He will reimburse up to $600.00 which you subtract from the money you bring him. if it is over $6000.00. Which most all WLS patients spend because of the multi-procedures that he does at one time therefore saving you even more $$$.
You email him with some pictures and he will study them and give you a combined price and that's it. Included is your stay at the Hampton Inn and you can even bring a someone with you although their flight is on you. The Hampton Inn is perfect, great locale, great service great security. and free hot buffet breakfast for all guests. Also is hospital, compression garments etc.
I was there for 12 days for a face neck and arm lift and it cost $8500. and I spent about $170. on other stuff. a few dinners you know just stuff.
I was off work for 3 weeks I am back, but I am on restricted duty.
I can't lift anything heavy and I am having some else drive me on my route as I am a medical courier. Blood samples don't weigh anything but I am very aware of my arms. I spent too much not to be cautious.
The water at the hotel is purified out of the faucet and you are give one bottled water a day in your room but you can get some in the morning if you ask at breakfast also in the gym. You can also buy it at the HEB that is literally just a short protected walk right out of the side of the hotel. I paid about 30 cents a bottle there, and still refilled some of them from the tap water at the hotel.
Oh yeah they will put in a fridge and a recliner in your room free as well. great for left overs and snacks.
I had my Sleeve in June of '08 and reached goal close to a year later give or take. I lost 125 lbs.. You do want to make sure you are stabilized before committing to such a task.
I just made sure my PCP was on board which he always has been, and He was needed as I had pre-op blood tests and when I got back I had a minor infection that he checked out and increased my antibiotics, asa well as remove some stitches.
I did have a friend come down toward the later part of my trip that was nice. Bard
