Frustrated in TX....
My heart goes out to you and your family. You have a tough battle to face and tough decisions to make in your life. No one should have to endure so much in life specially all at once. Thank God your PCP had more test ran on you. Please keep us updated on what is going on. I will keep you and your family in my families prayers that you and your family recover from these troubling times ahead of you. God Bless!
Sorry to hear you're going through all this, Carrie ...
As to vitamin deficiency-blindness, if that is the case then it is likely due to lack of Vit A. Quite often the results are reversible if caught in time .. You're only a little over a year out .. Hopefuly that will be the case for you, if so ..
If the vitamin levels come back O.K. and the neuro is sure the blindness is not caused by the tumor he found itself, you might get evaluated for pseudo-tumor cerebri (PTC), a not-uncommon disorder with S.O. folk .. (I think we have a specialty forum on here for members afflicted with the disease) .. Basically, the extra body weight causes an increase in the pressure of the cerebro-spinal fluid to the degree that, over time, it has the same detrimental effect on the brain that the presence of a physical turmor would, such as vision loss (it causes damage to the optic nerve), chronic bad headaches, etc. You might have had this condition before your WLS and not even known it, although often it resolves with weight loss .. The damage done, though, is usually not reversible ..
Good luck with whatever they find out .. and please keep us posted ..

Thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers! I go back to Houston on the 20th for a VP test at the Neuro Optamologist and she should have all lab work results in by then. So we will see what comes out of all that.
She is checking Vitamin A, B's, K, Folic Acid, Riboflavin
Talk to you again soon :)
