Frustrated in TX....

Greetings all!

Most of you have heard me vent on here throughout the past year because I continued to deal with blurred vision, light headedness, and etc. Well, labs all kept coming back okay (according to two different WLS drs here) but my symptoms continued so my PCP did a MRI since I have beaten cancer once already she was worried. In the MRI they found a tumor and I have been sent to a Brain Neuro Surgeon in Houston. The dr in Houston says that the tumor must come out but he doesn't think the blurred vision and etc is coming from the tumor, so he sent me to a Neuro Optamologist in Houston. She ran me through many tests, and has found that my optic nerve in both eyes are damaged severly. This dr can not believe the eye doctors here in Victoria did not find this before, and she swears it is all caused by Vitamin Defeciency! She has ordered vitamin labs again for her to look at. With this all being said, I'm a nervous wreck and scared to death of the journey in front of me. Please include me in your prayers!!  On top of all this the same day I got my brain tumor news my husband lost his job and hasn't found anything as of yet....grrrrrrrrr I'm trying to keep my job and work but my employer is very upset about me needing days off to see houston doctors and then needing time off for brain surgery! I may not have a job once I come back from having this surgery.  Take Care all and God Bless!

I am so sorry to hear of all you are going through. I've added you to my prayer list. What kind of vitamin deficiency caused your vision problems?

Carrie, what labs have then ran?  Neurological could be some of your problems related to B-1, B-6, B-12 and Vitamin A WILL affect your eyes.

Get copies of your labs, see what they've ran and didn't run.  Didn't I send you a list of the detailed labs?  If not, send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward the list to you.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't have a lot of time to pull information but if you use Google it gives you some information to research related to vitamin deficiencies and the eyes.  Here are two that I've briefly read.

Carrie,

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.  You have been confronted with several unbelievable challenges, but it sounds like you are in excellent hands.  Also I will forward this to my daughter who works for a major Christian Television Network and therefore has a large network of people who will begin praying about this.

I do not know too much about The Family Leave Act, but it seems to me your situation is exactly why this legislation was passed.  My understanding is your job will be preserved.  It may not be the exact job, but you will have a job none-the-less.

Thank goodness they sent you into Houston.  We are all blessed to live in a state with such great medical resources.

God bless and keep you and may His peace and grace sustain you and your family.
