Dietitian Recommendation
I am 12 years post op - have managed to keep off 130 lbs but I still have more to lose. My surgeon just used the dietitians at the hospital where he preformed surgery. They were clueless about gastric bypass.
Does anyone have a dieitian that actually is familiar with gasric bypass for weigth loss or getting back on track. I want to finish my journey.

You might check with your insurance and see if they cover a nutritionist. Then look up a nutritionist in your area that has experience with Gastric Bypass patients. My surgeon also uses the one at the hospital where he performs the surgeries. The dietian was nice but not very helpful hard to reach and 1 1/2 hours from where I live. So, I checked my insurance and sure enough they cover nutritionist visits. I searched the list of providers and found one in my area that most hospital refer patients too and has gastric bypass experience. My nutritionist is the owner and head nutritionist of the group of nutritionist in the practice. She has helped me a lot with planning my meals and given me helpful advice. I wish I could be of more help. I am sure someone here on the message board can point you to someone in the DFW area.
