Ok so maybe not new to the site, but to the forums.  Back in 2001, I had a VBG.  Lost 100lbs, gained back about 40.  Finally this year decided to see about a revision, fully thinking this wont happen.  I met with a dr and come to find out, it had to happen.  I had a partial blockage, and my voided stomach had come un-stapled.   Which explained things, but eh I kept blaming them on air pockets.

Sooo here I sit 4 days post-op.  I had a revision RNY on 4/15, Dr Kuhn.  I think for the most part I have won the battle against the bad gas pains.  My shoulders thank me for that.  I am glad to have protein drinks I can at least tolerate, although I have been bad since getting out of the hospital and let myself get a bit dehydrated, but I am working on correcting that as well.  But just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself.  My next happy moment, getting this dang drain out of my chest. ugh.

Welcome back to the TMB and OH.   I am so glad that you got your problem fixed and your revision done.   RNY is  a good surgery.   Please keep sipping on as much fluid daily as you can get down.  I have heard it is not fun dehydrating.   Good luck to you and hope to see you post more on the TMB.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Welcome to the TMB, and congratulations on your revision.  I am glad that you had it done before things got bad.  Dr Kuhn used to always get onto me for not drinking enough water.  Just some helpful info... the more dehydrated that you get, the less thirsty you will feel.

Make it a habit to drink throughout the day.  It may help for you to have a goal of how much you will drink by a certain time.  One of my problems was that I forgot to drink.  Trust me, you don't want to get dehydrated.  It can be very dangerous.

Make sure you keep us updated on your recovery... and... Welcome to the losers bench.

Re dehydration:I like using those stainless steel h2o bottles, cause the plastic is not good. Well, I noticed WallyWorld has them for $5, in the camping section. I'm going to pick up a couple, so I can keep them in the fridge.
I always carry a bottle with me. Maybe I'll put it in a small brown bag to freak out the cops.
And you can have an x-tra bottle for flavored h2o.
