Question for the Houston folks!
How long do you need to stay? I know there's a residence hotel around the corner on the beltway with nice rooms, kitchenettes, etc. where folks from out of state have stayed. I'm sure there are the regular hotels in the area, I just never pay much attention. I'll be going back on Tuesday for PT next door to the office, I'll look around and take notes!
I bet if you called The office Steph or one of the other gals could give you a list of hotels....they're nice that way!

hey there,
I was living in beaumont when i had my surgery and had mine at that very hospital! I was REQUIRED by my surgeon to stay in a hotel nearby for 7 days due to the distance and the Residence Inn Dee recommended was where i chose. I had a friend who also had surgery the same day and lived in bmt with me as well as my mom. We got one of the mini suites. It had 2 bdrms and a nice living area iwth a pull our sofa, and a kitchen area wiht a small stove, microwave and fridge. PERFECT for us!!!! Each bedroom had its on tv as well so we werent on top of each other. It also has a workout room and i would shuffle my fat ass accross the small parking lot every day and walk on the treadmill while watching tv.
It was super clean, the staff was great and i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. That was 4 years ago tho.. Its super close to the hospital, and just a few blocks from weistheimer if you are bringing someone wiht you... near resturants, half price books, lots of place to walk around and browse. I gave it 5 stars.
Wishing you the very best!!!!!

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
I only need one night as my mom lives in the Nasa area and I will stay the week with her. But I hate trying to fight rush hour traffic before having surgery!! LOL
Just wanted to spend the night before somewhere close to the hospital. Dr. Robert Davis is my surgeon - who was your surgeon?
Thanks for the info!
Cheers, Tee

Garth Davis is my doctor, and I live in the NASA area. I think you have a good idea to stay in a hotel the night before. Traffic is pretty bad early in the morning, although if you take the beltway, it isn't usually too bad. I try to make my follow up doctor appts around 1000 and there isn't bad traffic.
