Disintegration of the TX OH board

Very well said Karla! I miss the old board so much and that's why I've strayed. Like Dana said, I don't have time for the BS! I try to reach out and offer support to the Newbies as I totally understand how very important and critical it is to your long-term success, but, frankly, I'm just not around here that much anymore. I don't always have positive stuff going on in my life, so I feel like some things are better left as they lay. I know I have asked for a lot of prayer for my Nephew and his baby boy, but I feel like families stick together on that type of stuff and I value our prayer warriors here!

I did not always attend get-togethers, even when I lived in the Dallas area, but I did attend a few and I miss you guys so much! We are all successful in our own way and I think that is something we can share!

Love you guys!

Hugz,
Gina L

Gina, when I said a lot of the posts were "prayer requests" don't take that the wrong way-they are very important and we certainly want to keep abreast of everyone that has major health issues but what I meant was there are very few WLS related posts.  All the other "social type" posts have taken over.  Your little JJ is very near and dear to my heart and I want to read every single update you have so please don't stop posting about him.

On the other hand, there has gotten to be so much daily whining about aches and pains that I can't take it anymore.  I live with chronic low back pain and have two knnes that don't even allow me to walk stairs.  Do I complain about it on a daily basis?  NO, I deal with it and move on with my life.  I honestly think some people have such little good in their lives that they complain constantly for attention.

Anyway, I'm rambling...just wanted you to know I wasn't talking about you.

Oh Baby, I didn't take it the wrong way, I knew what you meant! I feel the same way...very few people even know that I am in "remission" with Rheumatoid Arthritis", because I just deal and go on. It's how I get through. I'm a walking talking barometer...btw...I believe it's gonna rain tomorrow!! LOL

Just got an update on the baby too...I'll send you a FB message!

Love you!!!

Thanks ladies for the support.  I appreciate it.

Ramon...when I re-read my post...you aren't who I'm talking about!  You have a wonderful post each day you post it.  It's all positive.  Viv always cranks up your grateful post with only positives.

Gina L...sure not you I was referring to.  When someone truly has an illness to ask for prayers for, no problem there.  We each have regular old everyday life family, job and illness problems.    Some folks don't seem to have any life outside the board and post everything on here.

Let's all make it a positive WLS board that is supportive of people's wt loss, accountability, struggles in regard to vits/supplements, food intake, food choices, board activities, etc.

I've met some dear friends on here and it will always be special to me because of that.

I know what you mean, I find myself coming here less and less than I did as well.  It's a shame, because the TMB was my rock when I was preparing for surgery and immediately afterward.  It DOES seem like things have changed and not for the better IMO.

I don't know what slamming others does for some people, but it seems to tear us down.  As people who have been obese a great deal of our lives (if not all), self-esteem is a big factor. When the ugliness starts flying, it serves no real purpose but to diminish others. My surgery, your surgery...what difference does it make?  We are all here because we are trying to be healthier and happier in our lives. We make the decision to have this surgery with our Docs and our family. Yes, please do share your experience with your surgery and Doctor.  That information is helpful, but DON'T try to minimize what others have done because you think you are right.

I would love to see the TMB back to where it was a year ago, but unless some things change, I don't see that happening.  It makes me sad, very sad!

I just wanted to give you a newbies opinion.  Although I have no idea what the TMB was like a few years ago...it has been such an amazing gift to me to learn from each of you (even when I'm just lurking!) and I have been really excited to see the community you guys have developed.

So, THANKS to those of you who are still posting.  It's amazing!

I realize there were some...shall I say...interesting comments last night (apparently I missed the really interesting stuff that was deleted before I got there) that got a lot of people irritated, but I have to guess that's a really rare occurrence (or at least I hope!)

You need remember that your posts are still appreciated by us newbies and there are some of us out there that really are feeling the "love" of the TMB and getting a lot of good information and support.

So thanks again!  Keep it up and let me know how I can help make this a better board so I can support you guys as well
