Good Morning Train!

WOOOHOOO for Monday!  I'm up and at 'em and going strong as usual this morning!  Had a great day relaxing with my family yesterday with some much needed Becca snuggles.... Helped KayGirl and her friend make Rice Crispie treats that she had to take to school today and managed not to snack too much... LOL

I've always loved music, but don't recall ever wanting to play an instrument... I sang in choir from 6 yrs on up, instead....

Prayers are going up for all that need them!

How about Doobie Brothers' China Grove to get us moving on down the line?

When the sun comes up on a sleepy little town
Down around San Antone
And the folks are risin' for another day
'Round about their homes
The people of the town are strange
And they're proud of where they came
Well, you're talkin' 'bout China Grove
Oh, China Grove

Well, the preacher and the teacher
Lord, they're a caution
They are the talk of the town
When the gossip gets to flyin'
And they ain't lyin'
When the sun goes fallin' down

They say that the father's insane
And dear Missus Perkin's a game
We're talkin' 'bout the China Grove
Oh, China Grove

But every day there's a new thing comin'
The ways of an oriental view
The sheriff and his buddies
With their samurai swords
You can even hear the music at night

And though it's a part of the Lone Star State
People don't seem to care
They just keep on lookin' to the East

Talkin' 'bout the China Grove
Oh, China Grove

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

I've been trying for days to get on here in the morning and say hellow to everyone.  Now that I have, what an amazing topic!  I love music.  Back in the day, I was with a band as a song writer, lead and backup vocalist and rhythm guitar player.  We made 3 albums (that NOBODY heard of  ) and played around Washington State and Canada.  Some of my favorite memories are of being on stage and in the recording studio.

I know that experience has helped me tremendously in writing one of my series, because it's so personal.  I miss being as happy as I was on stage, performing.

DH and I had a nice discussion last week about slip-sliding on our meal plans.  We've been grabbing convenient too often.  We now have lots of veggies and I've even eaten fish TWICE in one week (shudder - gag- patoo-eee).  But, I'm already feeling a little improvement.

Hope everyone gets a good start to this new week.  Thanks for being here!

Fish is a great non-red-meat source of protein!  I'm a big fish eater... even sushi and sashimi.... if you have trouble with it, you can always make a sauce or roumlade (sp?) to top it with to help get it down....

I played baritone/euphonium in school band for seven years.  I wish I could afford one now because I really miss playing.  I would also like to learn piano and/or guitar.

I have been keeping busy which has kept me from being around to post.

I'm sending prayers and thoughts to all who need them.

Have a great Monday!

I've never even heard of a euphonium!!!  Is it a brass instrument?

It's basically a baby tuba. The sound is a lot like a trombone, but clearer. The sound is part trombone, part tuba, and part french horn.

Good morning!  I played the clarinet in the jr. high and 2 years in hs in the band as well as the contrabass clarinet.  I quit band when I was on the drill team.  I played the piano many years ago but quit because I hated practicing.  I played handbells 10 yrs ago or so when I was a Presbyterian...our Methodist handbell choir is a little too cutthroat for me and too serious.

Paperwork in the office for me today.  Tomorrow I have meetings all day and am taking the day off Wednesday.

Prayers for Charlene and her family, Eric and Jenny and her family, Michelle and her family and all others who need them.

Have a great Monday!
