Hey there George...
Hope you have a good "opening day". Just spent the past HOUR cleaning up the "handy work" of some teenagers...toilet paper, forks/knives/spoons (yes, they "utensiled" my yard...how stupid) and then silly string. Man do I hate silly string. That **** sticks to everything. You know, it's one thing to TP the trees/bushes and all, but to spray crap onto a person's CAR??? Whoever it was also made a sign and stuck it to the door saying "happy late April Fool's day". Nice. Heather happened to be on the phone with a gal who NEVER calls her - she got a msg from her initially and then the girl called her. Another girl on the JV tennis team lives a couple houses down from us so this one gal who called Heather was like, "don't you live really close to Brooke". Hmmm...stupid girl - pretty much gave herself up. Now, I'm not saying she was in on the "doing" part, but she knows something about it. I told both girls to keep their mouths closed and not say a word, especially V who gets REALLY irked with stuff like this. For whatever reason a lot of the kids think Heather is a nerd so like to make fun of her. V may think the same thing sometimes but they are sisters so, you know, that's just part of being sisters, buuuut, V looks out for her sister and if someone is poking fun at her, she defends her. So, the girls and I got all the toilet paper cleaned up, all the utensils pulled out of the yard, and most importantly all the silly string off the cars. Definitely some amateurs as it wasn't nearly as bad as it COULD have been. Personally, I just can't see doing it. I had a LOOOT of friends in school as well as a few "enemies" but no one ever did that to my house (of course I lived way out - down a very dark country road that isn't lit so no one in their right mind is going to just arbitrarily venture out that way) nor did I EVER do that to anyone else's house. I know it's all in good fun and it really doesn't hurt anyone, but sorry, I just had better respect for other people's property!!! I know if I would have done it and my parents had found out, OMG, there would have been hell to pay and I would have had to go clean it up! We figured if we got it all picked up before dawn, that would be perfect. Kind of like a "no harm/no foul" and the last laugh would be on them as no one would get to see their budding "Piccaso" in them!
Ok, best get myself going... Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
We had a group of guys that hung out together. If you didn't go out drinking with everyone else, you were the obvious target for the night. For that reason, I always locked my car doors. My brother did not. I will never forget the night he and I did not go out with the guys. We got up in the morning and he was laughing his butt off because my car was under a pile of leaves. That is until he looked at his car and it was full on the inside with leaves.
Then there was the time we covered my sister-in-laws car (I was home on leave from the military) with all the trash from the block. She was a very jealous person, so we added a note to the pile... "Al, leave my wife alone." Dolly really thought he was messing around.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
