I do NOT have cancer - and don't have an ulcer, either!

So much for worrying. Good grief! LOL!

EGD results show nada! YEA! Just have to keep taking Nexium until surgery.

About surgery - we're trying to set a date.

It will either be May 26th OR June 2nd.

I fly home from WDW on May 24th (arrive 5pm).....and would literally have to get my grown daughter to pick up my 6 yr old from the airport and bring a pre-packed suitcase for me - then hop on another plane to get to Denton that evening. Have to be in 'class' at 8am on the 25th....pre-op tests, etc. that day....surgery the next.

IF we can wait until June 2nd, I will have a week at home before heading off to Denton for surgery. It would be so much more do-able!!

The glitch is Dr. Stewart is leaving town June 7th - 24th. He may not be willing to do a DS that close to the day he is leaving.

With me - I won't have a post-op scheduled until he gets back..... no matter which date we chose. I will be flying home straight from the hospital anyway.

Please pray, swing critters, etc.... that he WILL agree to schedule my surgery for June 2nd!!

I'm a nervous wreck and it's still 8-9 weeks before I will have surgery. How did you all cope?

Keeping busy is never a problem with a 6 yr old under foot plus running my own business!!

Getting ready for WDW and surgery will just add to the activity - and I'm thankful for the distractions.

One way to get psyched up is to attend the surgeon's support groups .. Do you go to Dr. S.'s group's meetings, or HayleyHayley's group (if it even still meets)?

I know they're a bit of a drive from Houston, though .. (what about out S TX DSers group there in Humble?) Those meetings and group members will keep you "motivated", on track, and help put you at ease as what to expect as the time draws nearer ..

I'm confident in Dr. Stewart - but really can't attend 'his' support groups as it's a 5 hr drive.... one way! I'm coming from Houston to have surgery.

Do not know anything about "HaleyHaley's group". I am not aware of any DS groups in or around Houston. Hopefully someday soon there will be one!!

k .. I though I had sent you info before on the Humble group, but maybe not .. They rarely meet like they used to though, since their leader, Dr. Kathryn Lewis, moved her practice up to E. TX. a couple of years or so ago. Sometimes she arranges to go back down there on a weekend and host a meeting. I think they meet at a cafe there when they do. If you join their Yahoo newsgroup, it will keep you updated with posts there. I can send you the link ..

Hayley and Stephanie have a girls-only DS group that meets somewhere around the Lewisville area from time to time, made up mostly of Dr. Stewart's post-ops ..

You might try asking about either group on the DS Forum and see what kind of response you get ..
