Greetings and Coming Clean

Hi Familia,

I hope everyone is doing well.  Have I told you all lately how much I MISS YOU ALL???
School is going good. What an amazing life after post op huh?!  I'm coming clean because I have to be accountable for me.  I have done so well with the lap band.  I am under alot of stress in so many ways. I've gained some weight, 10 lbs. Not a big deal. It is when you know where you came from right?

I put my scrubs on for the first time when I started school and thought wow, I can fit into scrubs, regular scrubs.  Those 10 lbs I gained, I can feel the difference in my scrubs!  Nothing like snug clothes to motivate you into getting your arse in gear!  Gosh!!! See what happens when you don't get on the board and go to support group meetings?

I am bound and determined to shake it off because I have my daughter's graduation to go to in May and I want to look very nice for the event.  My main reason is for me.  Okay I'm done!

I got my head on straight and getting it together.

I've gained some also Nina.  I do believe support groups are important and coming to the board.  I need to remember that and use the support available.....I need to lose 10 lbs. 

I'm ready for Easter candy to go bye bye.  I will do this, I refuse to gain more.

Miss you too Cajun Princess!!  I've done good this week thus far and have lost 3 lbs.  That is a start and a motivator for sure!!   I will be using my After Surgery Weight Loss Cookbook to get the job done!! In fact, some of the recipes from OH I made last week and froze some of it for future meals! Go Me!!   Love your new do!!!

I know how you feel Nina.  I have gained about 6-7 pounds and it is amazing how different I feel.  i remember when I was MO I wouldn't notice that for anything.  So I am being accountable too.  I have  quit going to support group meetings and not spending time with my WLS friends.  I miss everyone.  I have to do better so that I don't lose those friendships completely.

I feel you on feeling me Teena!!!  Out here in Round Rock, there are no OH groups.  Right now, I know I couldn't commit to starting one.  Having told 2 schoolmates about my surgery, they are now watching what they eat and asking all kinds of questions.  I'm just glad that the board is here and I feel bad I am out of touch with it because of school.  I try to use the weekends to catch up on what's going on but homework overflows into the weekend as well.

WLS friends are THE BEST FRIENDS one can have!   Have a great Easter!!

Good to see you back. I will not say how much I have gained back. But, as of yesterday I am back on a "wls" type diet. NO more bread, no more tortillas (and that really hurts). LOTS of protein and some fruit and veggies. Nothing else.
I did not know you have moved to Round Rock - I do know a couple of people in Pflugerville who have had surgery (they no longer post on here). Let me check w/ them and see if they know any support groups in RR. Does it have to be an OH group - or will a lap band group work?

I also understand feeling out of touch because of school. I will graduate in August - provided I complete my 300 hour practicum. And then on to my 1000 hour internship. My goal is that by Sept 2011 - I will have my LCDC license and can actually start earning a living wage!

Happy Easter Nina - I have missed seeing you around the boards!!  I'm glad to hear school is going well and tell your daughter congratulations on her graduation!!
