Can anyone give me some Doctors names that do the VSG procedure in Houston, TX?

Am trying to find some doctors in the Houston area that do the VSG procedure. I am on medicaid so if anyone has used that with the doctors from Houston please let me know, Thanks in advance everyone!!!!

I don't know about Houston, but Dr. Stewart in Denton (1 hr flight away) does accept medicaid. Good luck!

Dr. Vadim Sherman,  Professor and Director of Baylor College of Medicine's Comprehensive Bariatric program.  He was my surgeon, and I cannot say enough about him.  I know it sounds corny,but Baylor's program is unbelievable, and I attended a lot of seminars before I chose.  713-798-5700

 Good luck on that ..   Last I heard, here in the DFW area (which performs more WLSes per capita than any other U.S. metro area, btw) the WLS surgeons who accept Medicaid were VERY few in # ..     I guess there are just so many patients with private ins., cash pay, or even Medicare (which pays more than Medicaid usually) that they don't feel a need to accept the low reimbursement that they would get from the program, sadly  ..     I wouldn't be surprised if the situation is the same in the Houston metro area .. 

  Did you check under the sticky post at the top of the forum re:  surgeons who take Medicare / Medicaid, btw?  

  Best of luck to you ..   (don't forget also that the TX Rehab Comm. also has limited funds for WLS, if it will enable you to rejoin the workforce ..  However, they may already be used up for this year's budget ..  Those funds run out quickly  )       

I had my VSG on Tuesday and my surgon was Dr Dexter Turnquest...He is with the memorial hermann surgons but he does surgery in the woodlands...I love him but I dont know about the medicaid...
