There was a freakin' blizzard when I was driving 40 miles homes from work case last night--wind blowing that white stuff side ways--I have no idea what's out there today, but I'm sure it's at least as cold as a Harry Hines Ho's Hiney....

So...let's throw some more coal in this Hooterville trail and get on down the tracks....

All Aboard !!

We Can Do Hard Things

Good morning, my TMB family! I pray the HOPE for ERIC benefit went well yesterday. I saw a small piece on FB, but not many details-I look forward to hearing much more--and hopefully some pics. Sorry I couldn't be there..but..as usual..I feel like I was where God meant me to be-whether I liked it very much or not...

I go back to the 30 y/o with brain cancer today. She is still alert/vocal/etc and a truly fascinating person. She is a poet and is trying to finish a novel. There are lots of negative dynamics in the home-as there often are in the hospice case situations-but SHE is precious, and SHE is why I am there. I just have to hold my breath and tongue for the rest..I just keep telling myself "I can do anything for 12 hrs"...It's all good...I even decided to forgo Brayden's 3rd birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese today. His actual bday is Tuesday-I'll take him somewhere special, then (like WalMart!!)-just him and his GiGi...

May everyone have a blessed day, with the people of their choosing...

I LOVE Y'ALL AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!

I guess we're lucky because we only got cold and rain yesterday...no snow!  Gina, the young woman is blessed to have you for the weekend.  You are a gift to her.  Bless you!

Off to SS and church in a couple of hours.  I have a few little chores to do at home this afternoon, but not too much.  Planning on getting a little rest this afternoon to gear up for a busy week ahead.  I have to crank back up my homebound student...yuck!  I have ARD meetings all day Wednesday and a Scentsy party at my house that evening.  I cleaned house yesterday but will still have last minute stuff to do.  Oh well...next weekend will be here before I know it and I don't have anything I have to do that day.

I'm glad the Hope for Eric benefit went well.  I wish I could have been there.

Prayers for Gina's patient and all others who need our prayers.  Have a great day!

Karla

Gina, glad to know you were allowed to stay through a whole shift and be invited back.  Knew you would!

More of the same for me today. Also getting ready for the week, went grocery shopping and stocked up. Cooking a stew for lunch and a roast for dinner that we can eat on throughout the week.  Now if I can just find time for some laundry we'll probably survive till next weekend.

I slept in!

Dad's party was great, but yesterday was a very long day. We hit the road at about noon and headed back about 8:30 last night. I had to drive in the snow, but once I got south of 635, it wasn't so bad.  After getting up at 3:30, all I wanted to do when we got home was crawl into bed and sleep.

The mini cakes were a hit. I need to type up the recipe and put it on my profile and send it to my mother and aunt.

I'm taking my boyfriend's roommate to the DMV today to teach him how to parallel park. It's the only thing standing between him and a driver's license. I may not be great at it, but I am okay enough that I think I can teach him to pass his test.

Other than that, I don't have much planned. I need to do some laundry and figure out my meals for the next week, but otherwise, it's a pretty free day.

I hope the Hope for Eric event went well. Gina, I'm glad you enjoy your time with your patient.

Prayers for everyone who needs them!

Good-when you're done come teach me. lol. I passed the test when I was 16 and have spent most of my life driving around areas that require you to parallel park looking for a double space because I can't do it.

GOOD MORNING! I'm jumping on late. We had a great time yesterday and were so happy to help. I'm so glad I was able to work from 6:30-4 without being in too much pain -of course I just sat there. But I sold more than my weight in raffle tickets so I'm happy about that! And I get to be the bearer of good tidings when I mail Phyllis her gift certificate, deliver my intern hers tomorrow, and haul the stuff Meggie won (twice) to Rise and Shine Saturday! Well Bryan will do the delivering-I'm taking Chris to his soccer game. When I got home I sat in the recliner and was sound asleep before I knew it! I did stop at Ritas though on our way home and got my free Sugar Free Cherry water ice-YUMMO!

We've been up cleaning house this morning. Its been weeks since it got a thorough cleaning since I've been unable to do so. Bryan has been doing the floors since I haven't figured out how to scoot and vaccum or mop.

We're off to Target soon. Chris was a great helper yesterday, as were all the kids. I really enjoyed Charlie and Emily keeping me company and watching the table when I had to scoot.

Oh-good news I forgot to share- I had to go leave without pay for almost 2 weeks due to surgery. I applied for sick leave pool and praise God I was approved! They don't approve all requests due to lack of hours donated so I was very happy.

Hope everyone has a great day today!
