"Biggest Loser" Auditions & Dallas Methodist Hospital
No surprise over 500 folks showed up for it ..
What WAS sneaky was that it was held at Methodist Hospital's Weight Management Institute .. They gave the "captive audience" a presentation afterward, apparently, on WLS and other weight loss methods ..

PAUL-not to be argumentative, but it sounds, to me, like someone had a stroke of marketing genius. On the bright side, perhaps some of those poeple always secretly wanted to explore WLS, but were scared to "take the first step". Changes are they KNOW Methodist performs WLS-esp if these are local folks-there a million TV commercials/billboards/etc. If ONE life is saved, it's worth it, IMHO. Neither of us were there, so we don't really KNOW, but they probably were not held "captive", and were free to leave at any time.

If this was so "SNEAKY" as you say then HOW did all those people know to show up? It seems as you are saying that only certain people were told about it.
I personally know the the Director of The Methodist Dallas Medical Center's Weight Management Institute. She was the Bariatric coordinator for the Dr that I went with. She IS no where near the "SNEAKY" that you refer to. There are SO MANY that will benefit from the way this was done since they will now have the education that Dr Castro and his staff at Methodist do.
So If you still think it's "SNEAKY" bring your concerns to those that you are accusing instead... maybe they can suggest something for you.

Calm down, Sandi .. I meant "sneaky" in a good way .. Gina understood what I was saying ..
btw, if you're referring to Ms. Beaumont, I wish the article would have mentioned a little bit more about her own story other than just the fact that she lost 130 lbs. herself and was paying it forward there at Methodist .. Did she have WLS or did she do it through the WMI's diet/exercise program? If WLS, which type? Is she an RN, NP, RD, or ___ ? Do you know?
I also wondered which of our local WLS surgeons are affiliated with the Methodist WLI, since none of their names were mentioned in the BL article .. I take it Dr. Castro is one ..
Maybe NBC5 will do a follow-up article focusing on the WLI later on sometime ..

That's the thing... it wasn't "trying" to be sneaky. It was advertised.
Tammy, yes she lost 130 is a ball of ENERGY, rides in the Hotter Than Hell in August. She had RNY. She was my backbone through my journey with my Dr's office.
I don't know all the Dr's that are with Methodist but Dr. Castro is the primary. They also have one that is there that IS a plastics Dr as well.

Wow .. sounds grueling .. Hence the name I guess ..
btw, I didn't even think to ask this earlier .. Did anyone from the TMB attend the BL auditions in Dallas?
