sleep meds!?!

Anybody have suggestions on a new sleep med? The side effects of the ambien have finally gotten to me! Lunseta did not work when I tried it. Oh and I will talk to our sleep expert Liz later this morning but would like lots of points to ponder!!

MEGGIE-I'm pretty much a "cheap date" when it somes to meds-a little goes a long way. The OTC stuff works better for me than the prescription stuff does-NO idea why...boggles the mind. After a long work shift-when I'm all wired up, and HAVE to sleep, I've been taking the WalMart brand called "Sleep Aid"-lil blue gel caps. I swear by them. They even work after 12 hrs of drinking low carb Monster!

Meggie, I take Seroquel. He perscribed 50 mg., but I have to cut them in half. I take it and then within 15 minutes, I'm out like  a light! Tried Ambien CR, couldn't do that!! I did lots of strange stuff on that!!! Obviously I wasn't sleeping, or I was and just didn't realize it!! LOL

Honey, my sleep behavior is out of control! Night before last I was eating in my sleep and found wrappers on my pillow!! Ken says it has gotten old! Think I wall try the Sleep Aid first and if that doesn't work might talk to doc about the seroquel!

Yep yep I agree woth Gina on the generic "Sleep Aid." It's just the same thing as Benadryl but it works for me. My friend swears by Nyquil gel caps, but that seems to make me groggy the next day.

I take a small swig of my liquid Phenergan straight out of the bottle and I'm out like a light.  What a good nurse I am...self medicate by using a nausea drug for sleep.

I couldn't deal with Ambien or Lunesta- neither works. I take Trazidone. It's an older and therefore cheaper too. It's not habit forming either so you can stay on the same dose for years and won't build up a tolerance.

Be careful on the Seroquel.. it didnt work for me but made me eat like a friggin horse during the day. Loralea was about to kill me lol.  The average weight gain is 40-50lbs on that. I was like HELL TO THE NO coz i still wasnt sleepin!

As you know.. NONE of the over the counter crap works for me. what is working is Remeron which is an old school antidepressant. However 30mgs of that and im actually sleepy! Dee says its a new look for me she's not used to lol. 

Trazadone did not work for me.. i was up to taking 200mg and still wide flippin awake. 

We all know i dont do ambien, lunesta didnt work either.  Have also tried resteril.. didnt work. I could prolly give you my laundry list if you want lol.

ok dude, lemme explain things to you..
if you are gonna insult, come up with new material. Do you REALLY think that hasnt been surggested before? and not always having to do with sleep
