OK. Woke up this morning and already down 2lbs. The first 2 lbs I've seen off the scale after 3 weeks of back to basics eating with no results. I think I've already kick started something. That is GOOD considering I hate this "test". It takes a LOT of will power. I planned on just doing clear broth and protein shakes. BUT I would not have lasted. I was so hungry and the shakes were making me nauseated. Too sweet. I even had the VERY low sugar type. So I whipped up some soup and it will help me make it through day 2. I didn't measure any of the spices so I'm just going to put the ingredients. Add the spices to your personal taste:

2 cans black beans w/juice
1 can crushed, fire-roasted tomatoes
1 can diced oregano and basil tomatoes
16-20 oz chicken broth
(of the above ingredients I used all organic. Such little food get the best you can get!)
1/2 onion and 3 garlic cloves first sauteed in apx. 1 Tbs olive oil

Throw it all in a blender. Then pour into a sauce pan.

Add to taste: oregano, basil, cayanne pepper, cumin, garlic and onion powder.

It tasted soooo gooood. I'm sure this is partly due to being sooooo hungry :-)

Hope this helps someone!

Good job sticking with it!  I used a similar blended lentil soup the first time I did 5DPT.  You really do need something more substantial than protein drinks and clear liquids on Days 1 and 2, otherwise you feel like you are starving to death.

Keep going ... those first 2# should be highly motivational.

Tomorrow you get to eat solid food, and you will be shocked at how little it will take to fill you up.  That is when you'll realize how well the process works.
