WLS Express - Monday 3/8

It isn't too often a man gets to drive this thing any more, so I figured I would give it a shot. 

Bored here at work.  Been here since 9:45, it is now almost 4AM and I have taken one phone call.  Got to stop working so hard.

My friend Rod is doing much better.  He was in grave condition on Thursday, today he is looking at going home in ten days.  The pastor asked for prayers on Thursday night and on Friday morning he sat up in bed.  The doctor said he doesn't know what we did, but it obviously worked better than what he did.  Now he is on another anti-rejection drug.

Rainy, dreary day yesterday.  It was good nap weather.  Hope the rain holds off this morning until I get home.

Oh well, everyone hop on board!

Good Morning Train!

WOOOOHOOO for Monday!  Wow, a man driving this thing again.... we'll try not to be backseat drivers George, but we won't make any promises..... LOL
I had a great time at the Auto Show this weekend, but after 4 hours of non-stop walking my hips started complaining, this getting old stuff SUCKS.... LOL  Tom sat in the Smart Car and the Mini Coopers... now whether he was comfortable or not is another story! LOL

Prayers are going up for all that need them!

How about some Crocodile Rock to get us going this morning?

I would love to have a mini-Cooper.  I think they are so cool.  But at 6'4" and 230 lbs, not really a pretty picture.

How wonderful to see a man in the drivers seat this morning.  We dont see that very often.  I hope eveone had a great weekend.  I spent time with my son and grandson.  It was great to be able to get out in the park with him on Saturday.I think that spring is not to far away.  Yipiieeee. Nothing big going on today.  I think I am going to do my best and get out for a walk this morning, and then come home and clean house.  Always seems to need it once the boys leave.  Also supposed to hear from the General Surgeon today. Hopefully he will have all the info he  needs.  Only time will tell.  Well not much else to report.  Prayers for all spoken and unspoken needs.  Have a blessed day. Love you all.

Wish the weather was nice enough to take a walk here.  Not that I would take a walk, just want the nice weather.

Good Morning everyone

Since I am VERY wide awake anyone want to play whats up in your world today? only good stuff if possible since the train is suppose to be a positive envorment - Wiz if you still haven't slept you are exempt b/c if I don't get my solid 4 hours a day I am total crab pot and you are getting umm 4 hours less than that most day

it's 5:30 here but I've been up almost 2 hours  - Tim had a min to call and we got to talk for the better part of an hour - VERY nice

Whats up at Danni's house - well the husband graduated with honors from his classes, now to get him back from Balad to the FOB so he can do something
boys have a set of friends that are brothers  - almost exact same ages - way cool - it is nice when I have an extra 7 yo to let his big brother deal with him hehehe - and next weekend all 4 go to their house
we are calling Rach offically potty trained - she will go sevearl hours at the time dry, tell you when she needs to go potty and is having less than one acedent a day - btw did you know that disney panties are the smallesf of the 2/3Ts? Yep I got to stand in walmart yesterday opening (and refolding and closing nicely) a pack of each brand of little girl's panties
school is going good for me - I have 100 in critical thinking and 95 in Psyc with only one week after this one left this term - still trying to figure out how the MyCaa ( military spouse tuition aid) is going to pan out - they had aprroved and sent a letter with intent to pay to the school PRIOR to closing due to lack of funding - Uof O is giving them time and me too so even if I have to send them a $1500 check I don't have to do it today :)
acepted the position to be FRG (spouses support group - working with the command to keep familys in the loop) leader for our Unit - doing my required classes for that on line - what in the world did we do when we had to physically show up for stuff? I wouldn't be able to get it all in my day
working out -living life -making mostly good choices - yep that's whats going on here

When you talk to Tim, are they calls that you are paying for?   Or do they fall under morale calls?  Or does it fall in the catagory of "other"?  Just curious.   When I was in the Air Force and remote, we were allowed one morale call a week of about 15 minutes (but the communications guys never bugged you if you went over unless there was a waiting line - and I had lots of friends in comm.).

mostly right now he is calling from the uso - they get 30 mins free at a time - just have LONG lines sometimes
sometimes he does the morale call thing but it's a DSN line which means it only can call the ft stewart local area so when he does that he calls the hosue phone - we have agreeded it is BAD for Danni to sit home and wait on the phone to ring so whenevery possible he does uso

he also uses skype - we used the version where we paid for him to have unlimited calls to land and cell lines - that way even if the internet is crappy he can call and I see it's his number and go check the computer

I think we have paid for 4 or 5 calls this deploymment and 2 of those were from Ireland at $25 a min so literall just a hey we r half way there alls well love ya bye type calls

I would cheerfully pay for calls if we had to - in 2004 we payed for a sat phone n he called my cell most every night for 2 to 3 mins just to check on us - it is very nice that the phone n internet is so much better now

I know what you mean.  Got to have a phone.  When I was stationed overseas, we almost always had a phone in our house, even though 95% of the enlisted did not.  I didn't care about the cost, I need a phone.  When I went to Alaska, Mary stayed in Spain.  She called me on night and we talked for about 20 minutes.  The bill came to almost $300.  Soon after that my connections in comm told me to just have her call the base and they will put her through on military lines to my office phone.  That worked much better.  We probably talked for 90 minutes a week that way.  It didn't hurt to have the right connections.

I'm making myself post because I don't "feel" like it.  Means it's exactly what I should do!  It's been high pain for me the past few days, which means fitful sleep - if any.  I've been up since 2 and am glad to see the train already moving today.

Positive news?  Well, after more than a month of remodeling, DH (finally) got the bathroom closet painted, the shelving put in and all the closet "guts" off of the bedroom floor and back into the closet yesterday.  Then, he put up the new closet door.  Wow - I've lost that sense of claustrophobia in the bedroom.  Now if we can just get the walls painted.  (It's always something, huh?)

Another positive item - this week is "read an eBook" week, and several authors on Smashwords have either deeply discounted or listed their books for free this week.  I've put my western "Tascosa" up for free and have already given away a few copies.  (Here's the link, if you're interested (the "free" coupon code is on the right of the title).  https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/4284

I'm slowly getting work done on my next book.  It's been a challenge because of so many distractions, but I really like what I've got so far.
