Bard,

I briefly saw you at the dinner last Saturday night.  I'm so glad you are having the work done.  I've loved every minute of mine.

And, now forgive me.... HIJACK!!  Dee, have you heard from your friends in Roatan? We had such a wonderful time, I hope they said good things about us. We tried really hard (well, no we didn't.. we ARE nice people) to be well-behaved.  And watching Damari dance w/her mother at the restaurant was priceless.  Jodi is absolutely wonderful... and Janet (1) Alex's wife, was very nice. I wish we could have communicated more with her but she didn't speak English.

I got a brief note from Alex thanking me for pass along his contact info to "those very nice friends of mine". His written English is kinda basic but I'll be seeing him and Janet in June. I'm sure he'll have lots to say. As you know he's a talker! I'm glad you had such a good time!

Great job, Bard ..      My brother did medical courier work for awhile, but then realized he wasn't making much, since he had to use his own vehicle (do they provide the vehicle where you work?)  He put a ton of mileage on his car and basically wore it out ..     I think he would be willing to go back to that type of work, if they would provide the vehicle ..

Wow, PS @ only 18 months out?    Are you sure you want to do it that soon?  I know most plastic surgeons want to wait at least a full year after the weight loss has ceased before doing it ..  (I think LoMonaco in Houston wants a TWO year hiatus, IIRC) ..

  Good luck ..

Not true.  I was 15 months out with round one.  I know lots of people who have stuff done at 18 months post-op or even earlier.  And I believe when someone chooses to have his plastic surgery is between him and his surgeon.  It's really no one else's business.  From his posts on the ps forum, it's obvious Bard did a lot of research before making his decision.

Excuse me, our curiously -still-so-single-megahottie ..   Please re-read my post carefully, hon  ..

Yes, most plastic surgeons require at least one year out from the end of their patient's weight loss (NOT one year out from surgery) before doing PS  ..  I was at the OH convention in San Antonio in 2006 when that question came up during  Dr. L.'s presentation  ..  In fact, he usually requires two years out from surgery before operating on his patients  ..   No matter how much "research" they do, anyone having plastics before they are done losing weight, except in cases of SSMO patients who need to do their PS sometimes in stages, is taking their chances, possibly wasting their time, money and comfort, and, IMHO, often doing so out of a rush to vanity, as they may very well end up having to have it done all over again later on .

Btw, anyone who posts about their PS on OH (or any other topic) is inviting others to make comments about the subject   ..  That's why it's a "discussion forum" and not a "notice board" ..

Hello Paul... Dr. L did my plastics at 18 months but that was because my weight was stable for over 6 months...it depends on the person and the doctor...
