Had a great night last night!  I fell into bed about 9:30 and passed out!  Dunno why I was so pooped, but I was snoozing away about 2 minutes after I hit the pillow. It was great!  I guess I needed the sleep!

Don't know what's on the agenda for the day, I may just let the chips fall where they may and do what ever comes up.  If nothing comes up, I may just have a reading day!  Haven't had one of those in quite some time.

What ever you decide to do today, enjoy yourself and take carra YOU!!!

Good morning! I'm off work early, trying to wind down, so I can sleep for a little while. I've GOT to get my taxes done this afternoon, so I can get Chris's college financial aide stuff dne...errr...ummmm...started.....yes, I AM the Princess of Procrastination....

Speaking of Princesses, I started a thread so we can root on LORALEA and her dtr, KATELYN, as they run the WDW half marathon today.

My Hospice case last night was different, on many levels. As I texted to LIZ...sometimes I wish God had called me to be ditch digger or a truck driver....anything but what I do...my pt was a 50 yr old man with ALS (Lou Gehrig disease). That's all I knew going in....After I get there I see all these Nazi tatoos and crap all over him...Come to find out he just came out of 20 yrs in prison for sex crimes against children...including his own children...He even had a ***** tatoo of children on his ass...I can't make this stuff up...Anyhoo....NO....I didn't abuse him, and I didn't let him die in pain (but he DID die this morning), but it took EVERY unce of professionalism and Christianity I could muster up and pray for....I guess God had a PURPOSE for me being there last night...must have been the $$$, cuz that that was the ONLY redeeeming feature of the experience, that I can think of....

Okay-everyone go kiss your safe, loved children and have a SUNNY SUNDAY, as MARI put it.....LOVE that, btw!!

Gina...I use taxactonline.com to file my taxes and then it helps you automatically fill out the FAFSA info...so easy.  It even tells you your expected family contribution.

Gina, OMG and WOW - That's a tuff one for sure.  It would have been difficult! I can understand why your professionalism would have to carry you through in that respect. After all, he met his Maker this morning and He is the ultimate judge and jury of how we spent our lives here on Earth. Even tho' - I can appreciate the internal struggle you most assuredly had to go through. You are a VERY special Lady, Gina.  Not everyone can do what you do.  My Hat's Off To You

Mari-I was telling TRACI earlier that I'm a LITTLE ashamed..but not much...that I didn't do the "little things" I usually do for people...like sing/hum "Amazing Grace" (I always tell them it will make the Angel sound THAT much BETTER to them!) or read scriptures softly as they make their final transition....I just couldn't make myself do it...It was like I was "all business...taking care of basic needs..but I didn't let him be in physical pain

You're a wonderful woman and nurse!  Don't be ashamed to admit that...you are only human and you did make his transition more comfortable.  It is only His place to Judge and I'm sure that He did.  Your patient is in another place where he can no longer injure another child and has been judged by God. You did what you do best!!!
