Yep, a case of 8 10" cake circles is like $16.18 at Sam's.  Granted, I could buy a 99 cent boxed cake mix but by the time I have to make it and the ingredients like the eggs, oil, etc., it's just as easy for me to use their pre-baked ones!

YeeHaw it's Friday!!!  Oh wait - I've got a sick spouse - stomach virus.  I'm holed up in the spare bedroom / office working and he's laying in bed watching TV.  I sure hope it was something he ate, but there have been so many people we know with some kind of stomach bug I can only hope he hasn't "caught" it!

Working for a billion dollar corporation and they question a $8.00 lunch expense.  Geez - how much did it cost for someone to spend the time to kick back an EIGHT DOLLAR line item!  Crazy stuff.

My day is pretty full of conference calls and someone even had the nerve to schedule one at 4pm CST.  Don't they know we all bug out early on Friday??? 

Tomorrow I volunteered to go take my mother shopping.  She is blind in her left eye from a botched cataract surgery 30+ years ago and is losing sight in her right eye due to some bleeding vessels she got after a mini stroke a few months ago.  Retna specialist has lasered it so many times to try and stop the bleeding that they won't do it again for fear of damaging her optic nerve.  Right now she is considered legally blind.  My sister has been playing chauffeur and needs a break, so I'll put on my good daughter hat and spend the day tomorrow taking her from here to there and back to get her shopping done.  (Thanks Alissa for all the info you sent me - she has been checking out a lot of the resources you sent me information about!).

Not sure what else the weekend hold, especially with his majesty feeling under the weather.  I'm planning on going over to a friend's to celebrate her birthday tomorrow night with a bunch of mutual friends, but you never know with those crazy girls if the plan will change every hour.

The good news is that I'm feeling much better, although still tired and a little dehydrated. (I did lose 5 lbs, though)

everyone else at my house is better as well.

I miss our dog McCoy who died in the midst of all that, but it'll be ok. I'm thankful that there are services that will come get your pet after the fact and treat you and them with dignity.

It's been a heck of a week, but it's going to be a good, chilled out weekend.

Hello all.  Busy bee over here.  Work is crazy busy for a company who is losing money every quarter, but long as they are paying me what am  to do?  Show up and work, that's what!  So toiling there for eight hours and then spending 4-6 hours a night on school work.  Taking 12 hours right now, including algebra ans stats so I'm in the deep end with no floaties.  Some days I barely stay afloat, but I know it'll be worth it in the end.  I'm actually really enjoying the experience and relishing the opportunity, but wanted you all to understand why I'm not on much.  Works calling...gotta run.  later gaters!
