Let's make the TMB great - Follow-up

Okay, so this may not be the most popular post that I've made, but by-gum, I've just got to let it out.

After reading every single post made on yesterday's thread, I've come to a couple of conclusions...

When you read any post on any thread on a msg board, you're not going to agree with it, like it, answer it, or buy into it....  if you have a problem with it or the poster, then a) don't respond, just move on to the next post or b) don't read that person's posts  BUT don't abandon a thread that MANY of you said over and over again you wi**** was back to what it used to be.... it's not what it used to be because YOU all left it....

Secondly, FB is not the reason we've lost so many posters, the problem is that not everyone does FB, I don't because my work place does not allow it,  my real issue is when friends I love and miss decide that posting there is more important than posting here..... or worse yet, post here with a 'see my FB post' msg...  

Okay, I'm done... think I got that out of my system..... sorry....

I agree with the 'see my FB post'.  I hate seeing that because 1) my employer also has FB blocked and 2) I don't use FB much, especially since I can only get it on my home computer.  And I am not on it that often, considering I work a minimum of 65 hours a week.

KAREN-I just have to keep reminding my peepes-daily-that I can't get FB at work, so, if they need me, they'll have to txt me or email me and tell to go to OH. Not all of us have big ime techno phones that can get FB any time./any where....it's cuz of tthos HORSES that live in my house, call me MOM , and eat 1,000 lbs of groceries a day..

And this is exactly where I've been...reading and choosing not to post.  That sums it all up right there. 

I do the same..... but specifically on the Train or Nigh****chman threads.... posting on these threads is not a reply to any one person, it's a reply to us all.... so don't let one or two people's posts drive you away....  and yes there are times when we all need to step back.... I did so myself for most of the summer.....  sometimes life overwhelms....

Karen, I agree 100%.  When I posted about the whining and complaining people yesterday, I was merely reporting what a LOT of those that left the board told me was the reason why.  Personally there are some people's posts  I skip every single day cuz I can't take the depressive tone they always have.

One more comment-yesterday I posted on my FB for my friends to come to OH and post on that particular thread~if I had not done that we wouldn't of had nearly the amt of posts because people have left the TMB and would not of seen the thread at all.

I love OH cuz like Gina I can't get FB at work, only OH.  However it would be nice if you could respond to it from your phone.  For some reason OH doesn't have that capability.

I am one of those that probably would not have posted if not for Steph's FB post.  I am missing my peeps, the accountability, and sense of community. That message told me, come on back.  So, I did.  Thank you Steph!

You know I wish on this one I could When you read any post on any thread on a msg board, you're not going to agree with it, like it, answer it, or buy into it....  if you have a problem with it or the poster, then a) don't respond, just move on to the next post or b) don't read that person's posts but I can't on this one.  If people choose to be on facebook rather than here as much than so be it.

For me I can get neither FB or OH at work.  However I can get FB on my phone.  It is too hard to read OH on my phone on the one I have now.  So yes I post on FB more than at OH and am glad some of my OH peeps are there becuase then I can stay in touch with them and then my family and other friends all at the same time!

But I miss how TMB was when I first came here 3 years ago.  If it was back then I might be drawn to come here more often.

my real issue is when friends I love and miss decide that posting there is more important than posting here..... or worse yet, post here with a 'see my FB post' msg...  
so maybe they have the same thing.  It is easier for them to post on FB on their phones.I had a few rare moments to read before leaving for work today and then once I get home it is hard for me to sit at my computer as I have been sitting at my computer all day. 

So my point it may not be personal with FB.....just more convienent.
