Terrific Thursday WLS Express
Good Morning Train!
WOOOHOOO for Thursday! I'm back in the office today so gym time was a GO.... 30 minutes on the bike and I was huffing and puffing.... at least there was no wheezing this time... LOL Something terrific about myself? Oh geez, you're going to make me strain my brain.... dang, you've got me stumped.... there's lots of things I like about myself, but I don't know if any of them are terrific.... I have a terrific love for music.... there... that'll have to do.... LOL
Prayers are going out to all that need them!
It's sing-a-long time so here's Don McLean's American Pie!
A long, long time ago
I can still remember how
That music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died(*)
So, bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Did you write the book of love
And do you have faith in God above
If the Bible tells you so
Now do you believe in rock and roll
Can music save your mortal soul
And can you teach me how to dance real slow
Well, I know that you're in love with him
'Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym
You both kicked off your shoes
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues
I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died
I started singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Now, for ten years we've been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rolling stone
But, that's not how it used to be
When the jester sang for the king and queen
In a coat he borrowed from James Dean
And a voice that came from you and me
Oh, and while the king was looking down
The jester stole his thorny crown
The courtroom was adjourned
No verdict was returned
And while Lennon read a book on Marx
The quartet practiced in the park
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died
We were singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Helter skelter in a summer swelter
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter
Eight miles high and falling fast
Landed flat on the grass
The players tried for a forward pass
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast
Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While sergeants played a marching tune
We all got up to dance
Oh, but we never got the chance
'Cause the players tried to take the field
The marching band refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died
We started singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Oh, and there we were all in one place
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again
So come on Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack Flash sat on a candlestick
'Cause fire is the devil's only friend
And as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
No angel born in Hell
Could break that Satan's spell
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight
The day the music died
He was singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before
But the man there said the music wouldn't play
And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed
But not a word was [Spoken]
The church bells all were broken
And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died
And they were singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
They were singin'
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

Hey, everybody. We're nose to nose with the weekend!!!
Something terrific about me? You know, I thought a while about that and I got stumped. What an odd feeling to not want to say anything good about myself. What's up with that nonsense?
Okay, I've got one. I've got a terrific sense of humor. My whole family does. When we were all out at a restaurant a few years ago, we kept the zingers flying so fast and furious that the entire room was laughing. Even the waitress was leaning up against the wall, holding her sides.
Hope this day goes well, with less pain, more money and greater joy for all of us.
Thanks for being here!

Good morning train!
I have been big time MIA. My sweet little laptop turns out has a defective motherboard so...I'm back to sharing a computer with my honey. Just means less 'hang time' on the interwebs. I have missed everyones posts.
Its been a super month. My mom came down for 2 weeks for a visit. Her jaw dropped when she first saw me at the airport. The last time she saw me was July...several months before WLS. It was great to have here here and altho it feels nice to get back to 'normal' I miss her already.
I had a birthday about a week ago. YAY! Clint was thinking he would get me a new laptop since mine is out. But more than a new computer I really REALLY wanted a new sewing machine. So I finally got my Husquavarna. I adore it so much! Serious upgrade from my last machine.
Loving terrific Thursday. I love to read about the wonderful things people recognize in themselves. I'm a pretty groovy person myself...my terrific this morning is my talent for performance. Certainly not headed off to audition for American Idol but I love to get the chance to sing and/or dance for people.
Well...off to make my morning coffee. I hope everyone has an amazing day!

Good morning all. Looking forward to the next 15 minutes to go by so I can go bye.
As I posted on NW, no rotator cuff surgery, just old age, I mean arthritis.
Mary is hurting. Bad neck spasms. So bad she called Kellie to take her to the doc last night. They prescribed Vicodin. Told her no car keys while she is on that stuff.
Something terrific about me. I believe I am a terrific husband and a terrific grandpa.
Today will be an easy day. Get up in time to turn the radio on for the first Rangers game of the exhibition season. Then take Mary to dental clinic to discuss implants rather than using denture cream. Then Red Lobster for supper and on to my granddaughter's spring program at school. Go home, watch Survivor, CSI, and Mentalist. Nap. Go to work for 4 hours.
Have a good one all!!!!!!

Good morning...It's almost the weekend...Yeah!
I'm terrific because I've processed about 15 or so folders this week and cleared some out...20 to go and I'll be caught up. I have a jr. high student to test today for another diagnostician. He was absent last week when I went to get him. My plan is to go to work, finish one more folder and go test the little sapsucker. More folders after that.
My boss who had a heart attack on tuesday had a stent put it that night and was moved from ICU to a step down unit yesterday afternoon. I hope she gets to come home this weekend. She's a relative by marriage too. Poor woman is under a lot of stress. I hope she takes it easy.
Prayers for Eric and Princess Tracey and all others who need our prayers.
Have a great Thursday. Be accountable on Meaningful March!
