Let's make the TMB great again
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
1. name....Dee
2. Occupation....Owner, sole operator of Dee-Rags, online do rag business.
3. Pre-op, post-op or considering weight loss surgery? Post-op, RNY surgery 9/15/09
4. What are your personal goals regarding WLS? The first is to get and stay healthy. I want to be able to be more mobile and I'd be lying if I didn't mention I just want to be smaller.
5. What do you struggle with regarding weight loss? Not too much so far but the Carb Monster has been peeking around the corner. I struggle to get all my water but it's a winter thing more than anything else. Exercise is also a problem. Even after losing almost 130lbs my knees are still a problem. My job is sitting in front of a sewing and/or embroidery machine and I don't always take the time to move. I have all kinds of home workout 'aids' but get so busy during the day I just don't think about it until night when I'm too tired.
6. What threads do you like on the TMB? Mari and Karla's dailies, although since I'm not in maintenence I usually feel like I don't belong there. And I always have to read George.
7. What would you like to see on the TMB that's not here? More upbeat posts, more informative posts. I know we have to post our problems in order to get the help and support we need to badly but it seems like that's all there is. I'd love to read some "I'm doing great and this is what's been working for me" type posts. I'd also like to see more Houston get togethers. I'm envious of all the things the Dallas folks do together.
8. Do you need an Angel, buddy, support group location, doctor recommendation, workout partner or friend to help you? I'd love to have a walking/workout buddy but the local's I've approached aren't interested.
9. Do you attend support group meetings? Yes, the Pasadena group. I try to get to the clinic meetings but it's hard.
10. What else would you like to share about yourself? Been together with Beast for 42 years, married for 35. No human kids by choice, all our kids have feathers, fins or fur. Right now we are owned by 2 Chi's, Sophie and Chico, and a little man in a cat suit, Tink. We've been scuba diving for about 15 years, the best thing we've ever done for each other, it's our 'other life'.

Every morning someone starts the WLS Express. People drop in, say good morning, tell about what they did yesterday or what they are going to do today. A good way to get to know people.
Most afternoons/evenings, I post the NIGHT WATCHMAN. It is a place where I gather peoples prayer requests. All I ask in return is that they keep me updated so I can keep the thread current. I also use the thread as a place to interact with people. I work overnight, so I am able to get on the TMB all night long. Drop by, even if it is just to say hi.
There are other daily threads and weekly threads that people use for accountability purposes. It's a good thing.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Start working now on feeling good in the skin you're in. It can sometimes be challenging post-surgery to deal with the excess skin and how that messes with your mind, so learn to love yourself no matter what size or shape you are.
Now, if I can only learn to take my own advice.

If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
