Hi Kim, congratulations on your surgery and weight loss, you are doing great!

The emotions (mind games and depression) are probably a direct result of your surgery.  The first 2-3 months were tough for many of us.  Remember you lost your crutch (food); it takes time to release the loss you are feeling from your friend (food).

As for vitamins, Steph's idea about an alarm works well.  Also, I found (and I'm not perfect by any means) when I lay them out on my desk at work I'm more apt to take them....weekends are much harder without a set routine.  Keep plugging away at the protein, it is tough initially to get in enough, are you using protein shakes at all? 

I struggled tremendously initially with protein (getting in enough) and liquids.....again it takes time.

4.  What are your personal goals regarding WLS?  My goal was always to be normal and comfortable in my own skin.

5. What do you struggle with regarding weight loss?  excess skin issues, working with a bunch of "feeders" in a stressful environment, not making the best food choices.

6.  What threads do you like on the TMB? WLS express, accountability threads.

7. What would you like to see on the TMB that's not here? More long-term follow up. I  know that's not a revenue center for people, but that's where I feel the need is.

8.  Do you need an Angel, buddy, support group location, doctor recommendation, workout partner or friend to help you? Somtimes all of the above!

9.  Do you attend support group meetings? When i can.

10.  What else would you like to share about yourself?  I have a husband, toddler, job, and full life.   I no longer live and breathe WLS anymore. Maybe  I should a little more?

4.  What are your personal goals regarding WLS?  I would like to get down to 145 even for just a day so I can say I lost myself.  Be able to maintain and set a good example for my kids.

5. What do you struggle with regarding weight loss?  Vitamins

6.  What threads do you like on the TMB?  All of them...esp Monday Morning Weigh In ...keeps me accountable

7. What would you like to see on the TMB that's not here?  More people from the Panhandle

8.  Do you need an Angel, buddy, support group location, doctor recommendation, workout partner or friend to help you?  Always!

9.  Do you attend support group meetings?  No, but I probably should

10.  What else would you like to share about yourself?  I have been married for almost 7 yrs, have a 6 y/o daughter and a 3 y/o son....they are a handful!

I have several alarms set for daily on my cell.  The one for my meds is a song by Dr Hook and the Medicine Show.

7. What would you like to see on the TMB that's not here?  More activity period... a water thread, an exercise thread...

8.  Do you need an Angel, buddy, support group location, doctor recommendation, workout partner or friend to help you? Nopes, I need me to get with the program.... LOL

9.  Do you attend support group meetings?   Not in a long time

10.  What else would you like to share about yourself?   I'm married, we've 5 kids between us, and they've 14 grandkids between them and most days they're all running us around in circles.... LOL

GREAT IDEA STEPH!!   I feel like that I've lost contact with alot of you out there.....I've only been a part of this GREAT TMB for 2 years.............and things are different:   I'm on board:

2.  Occupation:   Insurance Claims Assistant....you name it - I do it !!  lol

3.  Pre-op, post-op or considering weight loss surgery?   POST OP

4.  What are your personal goals regarding WLS?  Just being healthier - to be able to do things.....live life that I haven't been able to live before now....

5. What do you struggle with regarding weight loss?  Staying on track - getting bored...  not sure how to "experiment" much in the kitchen, lack of an excercise program. 

6.  What threads do you like on the TMB? 
Nigh****chman,  Greatful Post...I can't remember the daily one....that You and karla Started up......The Train.....etc....  I don't post much on any of these - but I like to see what I should be eating......   for ideas.

7. What would you like to see on the TMB that's not here?  More people....like it use to be....    

8.  Do you need an Angel, buddy, support group location, doctor recommendation, workout partner or friend to help you?  nah - not right now... 

9.  Do you attend support group meetings?   Not really right now  - social groups more than anything..   

10.  What else would you like to share about yourself?   I'm  a SINGLE  mom of 1 daughter who is 23 yrs old who works PT and goes to North Lake Community College FT at this time..........  I work alot so I catch the internet on the weekends and a little through the day as I can................  oh yeah - I have 2 cats and 1 dog...and a brother that also live with me..

  • As of 11-10-13 I have had weight gain.  Not happy about that.
