OH Conf in Houston and Other get togethers...

Hey all... so I am considering venturing out of my little box of "real life" friends and meeting some OH people. Honestly, I need more support than my family and friends can give.

My point... does everyone go to these events by themselves? I am married, but I am thinking I would have a significantly different experience if I wasn't catering to another persons interests. I don't know how much spouses really get from these?!? But will I be the only single chick?

I saw the FW get together this weekend but the RSVP list had so few single people, so I wasn't sure how conference normally went.

Also, are there any support group meetings in Dallas that aren't all based on someone coming to "share" some item they want to sell you? The one at my dr's office is not very personal at all.

Alot of people go by themselves. Some take their spouses. You will definitely not be the only single person. These events are lot of fun and you make lots of friends. Alot of people attend these conferences.

As far as dallas support groups go I cant say for sure because I live in austin. But there are always postings for support group meetings. You might want to view a few pages of posts and you might find something.

If you want alot of people get roomies. It cuts the cost down considerably.

LOL... well, I don't know if I can make it due to prior plans and it being a ways from me. I live in Royse City. I might come, just nervous to come alone and not know anyone! YIKES...

oh dear LORD! you know me and a few other folks from the 'OTHER" board so dont EVEN try it. Do i need to PM you my digits so you can text me when you are in the parking lot and i can come fetch you??? coz i can do that ya know????

I've never taken my hubby to the conference cause that is MY weekend! It is my time to refocus and reconnect and do what I need to do without worrying if he is having a good time or bored! Lots of other women are solo so don't worry about being a third wheel! Wont happen with this group!!
