It all started with those dreaded scalloped potatoes....lol
I was losing 1/2-3/4 lb everyday till the "potato incident"
Now i seem to be at another stall...
im 12 weeks out, so i think this is normal...i should have lost something cause i have a mound of hair on the floor....but i have crazy thick hair.
Like Mari said "It could be worse.......MUCH, MUCH worse!"
I swear if i dont do ONLY protein, i dont lose...which sucks...cause i feel just like i did when i was fad dieting....deprived, depressed.....this too shall pass!!!

OK Miss Tara, time for some tough love...when in your life have you ever lost 43 pounds in 3 months??? Quit beating yourself up and stay off the scale. One or two bites of potatoes DID NOT make a difference. From day one, I never only ate protein and I still managed to get to goal in about a year. Find a way to eat what you want by making healthier substitutions. I LOVE potatoes so I eat roasted new potatoes at least once a week. I quarter the tiny ones, drizzle a little bit of olive oil on them sprinkle seasoning all over them and bake them at 400 until they're done (30 min). Comes out to about 100 calories for a regular serving. You would probably only eat about 3-4 bites so it wouldn't even be that much. Baked potatoes are not evil-it's all the stuff you put on them that makes a difference so choose carefully.
Tell me what else you're struggling with and I'll try to help you find a solution. Cuz trust me "Mikey" here doesn't like to eat anything healthy so I can usually find a way to eat what I want. Now quit beating yourself up and celebrate those 43 lbs!!

RNY revision from lapband 7/30/07...TT/BL 10/9/08 and at GOAL
Do what the Docs tell you, they know what's best, if you HAVE to have a bite of potatoes, have a little bite, just don't eat a full serving of them! Hang in there Tara, you'll be fine!
Hugs, Mari
I guess because the first surgery was a failure....I just know this one will be too....I'm destined to be fat the rest of my life...i know!! i know!!!....I'm slapping my self right now...lol
I have been losing inches even though i haven't measured yet, i just know i have... i put on a pair of jeans last week and had to lay down and knead my big old stomach down into the fabric to get them zipped....i wore the same jeans yesterday and zipped them up without laying down..
I told my DH, i turn myself on, in these jeans.....lol
It seems like i do really good with protein only...but its just so monotonous and boring...
i need ideas for good side items
Some protein suggestions:
cottage cheese
cheese sticks
chicken salad
peanuts
refried beans w/cheese
Fage yogurt w/SF syrup
Wasa cracker with a slice of swiss cheese, dotted with pepperoni slices and nuked for a
few secs
whole grain crackers w/peanut butter or cheese slices
chicken or beef vegetable soup
chili
Looks for carbs with fiber if you get tired of the protein - healthier and will keep you full and satisfied longer. Kashi has great products - lots of whole grains and no high fructose corn syrup.
I make a cottage cheese salad with some chopped up green onion and tomatoes that is good.
When my DH makes spaghetti for dinner he laughs at my plate - I put a small spoonful of noddles on it and cover it with the meat sauce and sprinkle with cheese. Can't even see the noodles when I am done LOL.
