OT - W2 doesn't match last stub!
OK, hopefully this is a question for someone with legal/employment expertise...My dh was laid off almost a year ago. We just got his W-2 and it doesn't match last pay stub....little surprise, in Texas I expected that since similar incident happened with other past employers for my dd....
They are saying that he was on contract the last pay so they don't have to pay his taxes....I say that is fine, don't pay them to gov't, BUT you took it out of his check, so you at least need to give it back to us!! It's bad enough we are going to have to pay a rediculous amount of taxes this year, but if they gave back the rest of his money they didn't apply to taxes, it wouldn't hurt so much!
Who is right?
Thanks for any helping info you have!

I would contact the Federal Labor Board...or if nothing else, dear ol' IRS since your W-2 does not equal paycheck stub. This may mean having to go down to the IRS Service Center, but there would be no better way to get back at his former employer than to have IRS on their back. You might also want to call the State Labor Board or Unemployment office.
