Good morning! I slept much better than yesterday thankfully. At 9pm I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I think it was lack of sleep PLUS worrying and stress. My foot surgery will be Friday at 2pm. I knew we were going to schedule it yesterday when I saw him at 4pm-just didn't realize it was going to be a few days from now. He had an opening and I was in so much pain yesterday that Bryan and I looked at each other and said-yes, let's just do it. I should be out of work for 1 1/2-2 weeks. Que-thank goodness I didn't give your wheelchair back! Bryan went and rented me the knee walker at the pharmacy in Euless after the doc appt. I got a newer one that the brakes work this time! woo hoo.

I might need some help this weekend. Bryan unfortunately has a planned working weekend that cannot be rescheduled. Poor guy will be working sun up to sundown. Bryan's dad is taking me to the surgery. My sister is taking Chris to his first soccer game of the season, Sat. But I might need some help at the house-depending on how I'm feeling/doing. If you're around my area of town and you're going to be home sometime, and have time, let me know. I hate to ask for help and I'm sure I'll be fine, but just in case I'd like to know who I could call. I think if hospitals gave frequent flyer miles, Meggie, Eric, and I could take a huge trip!

Prayers for all those in need. Praises for those who have gotten blessings this week. Meggie-how are you feeling? Gina- is Richard back to normal now health wise? Well, whatever normal is of course! Danni- did you get some bath time?

I hope everyone has a great day today!!! Go and do something wacky and then report back!

Good Morning Alissa and the rest of my TMB Family,

Wacky huh?  Not sure how wacky I feel today but can certainly try!  I'll tell you whats wacky, Eric having delayed start at school the rest of the week.  Guess the school buses had a hard time yesterday getting into houses off base to pick up kids for school.  Oh well.  My pouch has been giving me problems the last few days.  Not sure what is going on but I think it is just my ulcer cause I feel like I am hungry all the time and thats what the ulcer feels like for me.  We had a nice family dinner last night at Texas Roadhouse.  I had their Dallas Filet (6oz) and a sweet potato.  Course only took a couple of bites and brought the rest home.  Yummy lunch for me today.  Tim and Jon will leave late this afternoon.  We have had a great few days together.  I just love having them around.  Tomorrow and Friday will be getting the house cleaned up and getting myself packed.  I leave on Saturday for a week wtih my Mom and Dad.  I am really looking forward to it.  I dont think it is warm enough to swim, but Mom walks every day and goes to exercise class twice a week so I plan on doing a little of that anyway.  Alissa I hope this surgery on Friday is going to fix that foot of yours.  There really is nothing like foot pain!  Wish I was closer to help you out, glad FIL is going to be there!  My prayers will be with you.  Danni did you guys get lots of snow?  How is Tim and when does he start school?  How is school going for you?  Gina, how is my favorite nurse feeling these days?  I hope you are over that crud and feeling better with each day!  Prayers especially for Jenny and Eric, and for our Meggie.  Prayers for those that are unspoken.  Have a blessed day.  Love you guys

Good Morning Train!

WOOOOOHOOO for Wacky Wednesday!  I'm in the office so I can't act too wacky, cause they'll call the men with a tight white jacket for me if I get too out of hand! LOL

Prayers are going up for all that need them!
I need all ya'll to add my mother to your prayer lists.... Her name is Rebecca and her latest CAT scan showed that the bone cancer has progressed rapidly. They'll do another MRI to make sure it hasn't moved into any of her other organs on Monday and then in March they're going to start the really aggressive Chemo again.... She laughs and says she's losing weight the hard way, but she's already smaller than she's been since she was a teenager.... I worry and I'm too far away to be of any help to her.... ugh.....

ELO's Can't Get It Out of My Head, won't get out of my head this morning....

Midnight on the water.
I saw the ocean's daughter.
Walking on a wave's chicane,
staring as she called my name.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head.

Breakdown on the shoreline,
can't move, it's an ebbtide.
Morning don't get here till night,
searching for her silver light.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

Bank job in the city.
Robin Hood and William Tell and Ivanhoe and Lancelot, they don't envy me.
Sitting till the sun goes down,
in dreams the world keep going round and round.

And I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no.

No, I can't get it out of my head,
no, I can't get it out of my head.
Now my old world is gone for dead
'cos I can't get it out of my head, no no no no.

Ya'll have a great day my friends!

Good morning.  I had a late night last night.  We didn't get in from Humble until 10:45.  Way late for me on a school night!  Oh well, I get to come home when work is over today and stay so that's a good thing.  I have a "surprise" ARD meeting today for a kid who went off somewhere for a year, came back yesterday and naturally got no credits while he was gone.  Drowning in work right now...

Prayers for Karen's mom and family, Alissa for her foot surgery Friday and Meggie and Eric and all others who need our prayers.

Have a great Wednesday!

Karla

Good morning train riders...I finally get to ride the train today.  I PROMISE after Friday, I will cut down on the amt of cruise posts.  I'm sorry that a bunch of you can't join us and have to endure my daily threads but I need to make sure everyone gets booked by the end of this week.

I did something interesting today.  I looked back at my "weight calenders" this morning and from last January 1st until today my weight has fluctuated from 160.2-152.8.  That's not bad.  In over a year, I have maintained in a 7 lb range and 90% of the time I've been from 154-157.  I'd call that successful maintanence.  I know I'm only 2.5 years out and the hard part is just beginning but at least I know it can be done with careful planning.

Plan for today is to bake some SF zucchini bread, grocery store run, bank, laundry-all the usual fun stuff.  Plus I do have $50 in Kohl's cash that I can spend starting today if I get really bored and I need to call and pay off my cruise since I got my income tax refund.  Better get out of these jammies and put this plan in action...

WOW!  Congrats - now that's what I call successful WLS maintenance!  I certainly hope that I can be as successful!  I'm working on it! Establishing good habits are the key to the whole thing.  I still have some bad ones, but these aren't as bad as the ones I had 2 years ago.  You "old-timers" (and by that I mean more than 2y out from surgery) are the ones who teach us HOW to move forward post-operatively!  Thanks for sharing your experiences and hurdles, they really do help (at least they do for me) in the long run.

Hugs, M

PS-I also want to send you a special thanks for setting up the cruise for all of us...I am so excited about it and can hardly wait!!!!  MUAH!!!

Thanks Mari and you're welcome for the cruise thing.  Trust me, I'm doing it as much for me as you guys.  I love my hubby but going on vacation with my "girls" just can't be beat!!
