Tuesday- Read in your bathtub Express
Good morning Train Riders! It's an early morning here at the Tank house. Jeff is working full time for the next two weeks, and since he's in class Tues/Thurs night and leaves work early he has to get to work by 7:30 today. So we both got up extra early to get ready. Walked the dogs, made lunch and am sipping on hazelnut coffee right now. I need to get myself ready for work and start up early as I have an appointment tomorrow so I need to make up some time.
I had a very nice day yesterday. Went over to Jenny's for lunch, hair cut and some shopping, came home and took a nap, went to support group, then went grocery shopping. It's amazing how much you can squeeze into one day. I've got 4 boxes of books together ready to go to 1/2 price. Next I have to start going through my kitchen stuff to see what I really need to keep and what can be donated to the church youth group's garage sale. My goal is to get rid of things that are just taking up space and only move the important things that we actually use (and the items that have real sentimental value).
I've got a meeting at church tonight to discuss decisions and how we move forward. I hope and pray that in time things get easier and better for us there. OK, off to shower and get ready for a good day at work. I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Hey, everybody. I put bubbles in my hot tub. I just love bubbles!!
Man, yesterday was crazy! Because our power had been out, I called on Saturday to cancel the bathroom tilers Monday appt.. On a hunch (because things have had a tendency to snarl with this project), I got ready for them anyway and sure enough, they got here at 8. The house is torn up, but the bathroom was ready for them (thank goodness). The dogs barked all...day...long. Oy!
The tilers are really nice and will be back today (I expect them any minute). This time, I have the coffee ready. Oh, and the tile looks absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I think they're putting in the grout, setting the toilet and adding grab bars and soap dishes.
We'll stil have to finish peeling off the old wall paper on two walls and then painting them, as well as DH needing to install the new closet door. But, we're getting there. It looks less and less like a train wreck!
I've been meaning to ask. What is ARD?
Thanks for being here!

Im not a teacher nor do I claim to be one on tv, but an ARD is Assessment, Review and Dismissal process. Basically to assess a student's special needs and see where they are in the process of getting their help, see what other services they need, blah blah. Im sure Karla or Tracey can explain it further, but thats the short version.

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
Good explaination Liz!
We have to have an ARD meeting every year to determine a kiddos educational placement and gains. We discuss what we project them to do for the following year as well as what they accomplished the year before. Anything from inclusion time, speech - occupational- or physical therapy, TAKs accomodations, classroom accomodations, etc etc, can all be determined in an ARD. Basically its a legal parent-teacher conference with special ed involvement. Speech therapy falls under the special education umbrella.

Hey You Guys!
Jumping on before the day gets away from me like it did yesterday. I take a bath every night. We have a big garden tub so its nice to soak. I get up in the morning and take a shower too. Sometimes during the day if I've been out in the pasture or something messy then I will take a shower when I come in. The other day Addison was folding clothes and noticed that I had about 3-4x's as many panties as everyone else. I guess that's the downfall of taking 2-4 showers/baths a day. Well that and all the lotion I go through to keep my skin from getting too dry. lol
Yesterday Dirk and the girls had the day off. I got to meet them for lunch and then they took one of the horses to the vet to get her teeth floated. They basically file down the horse's teeth so she can eat better. Lakota is like 24 years old and it had been over a year since it had been done. I went to the barn the other night to let her out of her stall (everybody gets their own stall so the older horses or less agressive ones don't have to worry with getting their feed taken) and she had tears on her face where it was difficult for her to eat. It tore me up seeing her like that. She's not too thin but she could add a few pounds, so she needed her teeth fixed. The vet said that we need to give her 1% of what we want her to weigh. I'm not sure we are going to feed her 15lbs a day...Addison got tickled and said "what do you think we're doing? Feeding a horse?!?" lol
After the vet we stopped at DQ to get the girls a snack. The paper tray cover had a story about a lady who met her husband when she was working at the drive-thru. Since then everybody in her family has worked at DQ. My reply was,,,, "you might be a redneck" Addison's reply was "DQ- a great place to get a burger AND a boyfriend!" There were three other people in the restaraunt besides us- all of them (including two men) were at a minimum in their eighties. Addison seemed a little disheartened when she suggested that TODAY might not be HER day for the boyfriend.
Love you guys!!! MEAN IT!
