Wow!!  Did not hear of the snowstorm in Auburn.  I remember one winter when I was there we had a bad snowstorm and lost power for a week.  The city had not trimmed the trees that fall and the weight of ice on the branches brought down electrical wires all over the city.  After that the trees were kept trimmed far away from any electrical wires!!

As you said...the buck stops here!  With your gain, with the fact that I can't get those last few lbs off to hit goal.  You're right, it's no one else's responsibility but our own!!!

But I'm making a vow that I WILL hit that goal (of 135) before we going on our cruise in September!!!  I'm saying it here, so it has to be so.  OMG what did I just get myself into???  Yikes!

Make it a goal Phyllis and set your mind to do it!  Get the crap out of our heads, that make us slip and slide, and just go for it!!  I have to and I am going to!  Join me???

Hugs, Mari

Picked up some nice clothes at the Goodwill on Saturday.  My best score was a knitted sweater made of a merino wool-cashmere blend for $5.99.  If I was to buy the yarn it would cost me $60-$70.  The color is a medium blue which I am not crazy about but I have some beautiful royal blue dye that will fix that right up.  I unraveled it and wound it into skeins.  I also picked up a couple of other sweaters for the yarn - big, HEAVY ones with lots of yarn  LOL  2 cotton and another wool one.

You were telling me that you had been doing that...buying sweaters for the yarn.  Makes sense to me.  I've been buying things at garage sales and thrift stores for the fabric and trim to make those damned chickens, I've gotten myself addicted to!  It's a lot better to spend a quarter or 50 cents for the fabric and trim than $2.25 (and up) and then even more for the trims.  I even save dryer lint to stuff into the chickens (now, that's not thrifty...it's just CHEAP!!!)

Total loss:  -113

This weight, 150, is my goal.  At 5'4" I should probably lose more, but I am wondering whether I ever will -- it is coming off soooooooooo slowly now.  The truth is that, if I never lose another ounce, I am delirious with joy to have lost what I have lost.
