Hi, i'm moving to Arlington Texas at the beginning of next month and would love to know if there are weekly meetings? Also does anyone who lives in Arlington go to a gym and would like a gym buddy?

Welcome to TEXAS! Watch out... the weather changes every five minutes! We had chilly weather last Tuesday but SUNNY... then SNOWING on Thursday to the point we had (in some places) 12-13 inches on Friday morning! (Yes this is the area you are saying you are moving to LOL

Sharon, welcome to Texas and the TMB. I don't live near Arlington but will take any opportunilty to drive over there for a party or get together. So jump onboard here, make yourself at home and I bet a lot of us would be happy to meet up with you after you get here and are settled.

I've heard that the British have a great expatriated "community" here, with a lot of your fellow countrymen in the nearby Addison area for some reason ..

There is also a small cafe and gift shop owned by two Brit ladies up near Plano (I forgot the name of it) who try to make it as much "like home" as possible for them and their customers ..

btw, everyone, speaking of moving to Texas, Melting Mama mentioned on the main forum earlier this week that she and "Disappearing Dad" are seriously thinking of moving here as well, although they haven't thought of a particular Texas city yet.

Welcome to Texas Sharon. There are lots going on in that neck of the woods and nearby. I lead a Support Group at Starbucks once a month in Hurst....about a 20 minute drive from Arlington to the north that is. LOL Also we have a support breakfast once a month also. There is also a Rise and Shine breakfast during the month also. Lots to do here in Texas and then there is the OH Conference in Houston in Nov. A biggie for us all and lots of fun. Welcome hope we can meet face to face. Hope you like it here in the Lone Star State !!!

Thank you Vivian, i will definitely check out the support groups once a month! It would also great to go to Houston in November. Sounds like i'm going to be busy! If its ok, once i get there and settled in i'll send you a message on how to get to the groups.
