Home from hospital--- CLEAR liquids, need help!
Jessica, sorry to hear about the hernia, but good it wasn't an obstruction. I was actually given this at the hospital when I had surgery. Ready to Drink Isopure is a clear liquid and has plenty of protein......Vitamin Shoppe and GNC both carry it in 20 ounce bottles. (Edited to add) It has a tart taste, and I liked the Passion Fruit the best.

Kat, I am glad it wasn't an obstruction either! I am amazed on how quick Dr. Barker was to react and run all the right tests-- I had every CT-scan completed with and without contrast and then he went in and did the exploratory laproscopic surgery to figure out what was wrong. I actually had the 8oz RTD isopure PLUS drink (which I think is different then the other Isopure drinks). There are only two flavors: Apline Fruit Punch and Frost Grape. The Frost Grape was good. I will have someone pick me up some today! Thanks for the well wishes and information, appreciate you!

Clear liquids are anything you can SEE through. (for example...grape juice doesn't count). They are thin and watery. Look for things like Gatorade that don't have a high sugar content. Don't worry about protein at this point. They need that area to heal, it's only a week.

Steph, I am so glad you posted this information!! The only compliant I had is that several of the staff there after I had the repair surgery did not know what I had done, and it seemed like there was not communication (thank goodness, my sister was there to catch the inconsistency- I was out of it). I completely understand now with the healing process. I am not able to get more than 4 oz in an hour in. Its a very slow and painful process for liquids to go down. Thanks for the information.
