Update on Me

 Stephanie....what symptoms were you having???   Ever great once in a while in my lower right side I experience such sharp stabbing pains that it doubles me up and I have to stop dead in my tracks and go to bed.    Today was one of those days.   Usually the pain comes and goes for several hours and I can feel where the pain is and it feels like a bulge there.   I have mentioned this to my WLS and he doesn't seem to think it is anything.    I am just wondering if you have experienced anything like this.    Hope you get better really soon and please keep us posted on your progress.

I was having some pain in both my left and right sides, but not really at the same time.  The worst pain was in the middle of my abdomen, above my belly button.  The thing that really got my attention was a lump that I noticed in that spot.  That's what sent me to the ER.  Of course the ER didn't notice anything, but the radiologist saw what he thought was a hernia.  When my surgeon looked at it he thought it was an obstruction.  It wasn't until he opened me up that he realized that it was much worse.  I would be persistant with your doctor.  Tel him/her that you really feel like something is going on and you would feel much better if you had a CT scan to check it out.  If you do that and they don't find anything at least you know you're okay.  And if they do find something they can do what needs to be done to repair it before it gets worse.  Stay on them!
