Update on Me
Well, I showed up at the hospital on Friday for what was supposed to be day surgery. The doctor started the surgery laproscopically, but once he got in there and to convert to an open procedure. Turns out it wasn't a bowel obstruction after all. A large band of scar tissue had wrapped around part of my intestines and had them tied up almost in a knot! The doctor said he was so surprised that I hadn't been any sicker than I was. He was also thankful that we decided to have the surgery on Friday. He said any number of things could have happened over the weekend.
I will probably be in the hospital at least 2 more days. Waiting for things to start moving again before I can even get rid of the NG tube.
Take care!

I really think I have the same thing. For three years, since my tummy tuck, I've had pain in the area around and to the left of my belly button. Sometimes it actually wakes me up. The pain is relieved somewhat by having a bowel movement, but not completely. My plastic surgeon says it's probably adhesions, which are caused by surgery, so doing surgery probably wouldn't help in the long run. However, I am seeing Dr. Garth in two weeks, and am going to address this with him again. The last time we talked about it, he had me get a CT scan, which didn't show anything. But it's just not right to have pain for this long if nothing is wrong.

Meggie--I kind of got away from TMB for awhile, so I'm not sure what all you have been going through. But I knew something was up with you. I hope you are doing better.
Lynne--so glad to hear that you're going to the doctor soon. I hope everything turns out well for you.
Take care!
