You know what sucks? Our addiction to food is what got us here in the first place. We will always have to struggle. Thats the bottom line. The surgery didnt fix out "head."

I would like to help you but you cant fix stupid.

Hey John,

Popping in to add my 2 cents worth with everyone else.  I, too, have regained weight from my lowest (133).  I'm at 152 now - which is down 3 pounds from where I finally called a halt to the regain.  It's harder now than when we first had WLS, but the tool still works.  We (and I am sooooo including myself in that "we") just have to use it!!!

You can do it!!!  I have confidence in you!

Ramon,
That liquid diet is part of mine too. I know you and I have talked about it before. I have done a lot better, but I have my moments! LOL We can do this! I miss my support group and the support we used to have here. I see it coming back, mostly through old timers that ARE experienceing regain or burnout. I really don't care where it comes from, as long as it comes back!!! Let's keep this topic alove!!!

hugz,

I have become friends with Bill W and on my third week of sobriety.. I found that I didn't eat much when I was drinking and now that I am not I have to tell myself to stop.. I think I would rather be big and sober than skinny and dead.. Because if I didn't quit that is where  I was headed.. Keep me in your prayers..

I fell it too John.  I have put on about 5 pounds.  I am coming up on 3 years and I just can feel the old habits trying to come back.  I'm not eating really bad things but just too much of a good thing most of the time.  I just have to get back to the basics.  I know my protein intake is way to low so that is where I am going to start my focus plus too many carbs.  I LOVE bread, pasta and rice. LOL

Tina, I started "grazing" and that seemed to open the flood gates to starting to eat like **** again. I really think structured times are crucial to keeping it off. I remember starting out I ate by my watch. I know that sounds like a pain in the ass but I think I will return to that concept. If its not time to eat? I am not eating.

I've started eating on a smaller plate.  It makes me feel like I am eating more.  I have also turned to eating more veggies to help with the fullness.  My problem is that I just eat because I want to and not because  I need to.  I am trying to eat like I have for the last 2 years.  The problem is I am eating more.  So I need to cut back.  I'm doing better and I noticed I am beginning to have the full sensation again.  For a while there I never felt full which was scaring me.

Me too !!

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.
