Hello All,

Glad to report everything went well with my surgery, except for a few minor things which caused me to be in surgery for a total of 5 hours. My Doctor had already informed me my surgery would be lengther due to having the lapband for about 6 years but had to have it removed due to several issues. But after I had it removed had to wait about a year to get revision due to damage from band to stomach.

I was diagnosed with severe infection of the stomach and intestines, beginning stages of ulcers though out stomach lining. I had taken antibiotics before surgery thought things had cleared up but due to my luck it had not, needless to say that was only one problem, the other issue was Scar Tissue, OMG is was everywhere. The surgeon had told me it took him 1 1/2 hours just to clean all scar tissue before he could start procedure. He had taken pictures, it was really bad, but anyway I came out of surgery doing fine, just really sore, Oh Boy, I'm really having bad pains with the gas, bloat feeling. But each day it seems to get better. I've not weighed yet, I have my followup next Tuesday, to have drained tube removed. I will update with weight loss.

Actually, Friday will be One Week Post Op for me.

Hey man, it will get better. In about a years time you will be on cruise control. Stick with your plan. Do what your doctor tells you and you will do fine. I was back on patrol in 3 days after my surgery. Who do you work for and what do you do? I am a Sgt. Investigator with OIG, Internal Affairs.

I would like to help you but you cant fix stupid.

Congratulations! I'm sure you know this but GasX strips and walking really got my gas moving and out of my system. It was gone by about 10 days out. Good luck with your recovery, getting the infection and ulcers cured. Just hang with your plan, follow the rules no matter how silly they seem and you'll do great.  Keep us updated, I love watching everyones progressions!
