Good afternoon all.  Dreary day again, but I won't let it get me down.

Had a great day yesterday.  No work.  Ate dinner with Phyllis and her family at Red Lobster.  Then took the TRE for my first time.  Went to the Stars game.  Great game, big win.

Was supposed to be going to a Stars game this weekend, but that got cancelled.  So, will just have an evening with Mary on Saturday.  I think she wants to work on cleaning out my office.  I so look forward to that. (Yeah, right).

Check back later.

Pray for Jenn R. and Eric.  Please.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  & SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Gina L. - brother Jerry still suffering.  Doctors are now leaning towards the problem being stopped up cardiac areteries.  He is very depressed and has chronic back pain also. Gina also requests prayer for her nephew and his family.  He lost his wife and the mother of his 2 month son.

Karen the Papaya Queen asks we pray for her son and his GF and their kids.  They lost the parental rights to the children, but the decision is under appeal.

Kim (tennysonkw) wants prayer that she will be a better example to her children in the future, and that God will grant me strength to endure, as her and her husband go through their personal problems.  Her coworker Tara passed away.  Prayers for the children left behind.

MariPW - prayers during a stressful time dealing with her job loss.

Michelle S. - Prayers for her Unlce Paul who is apparently in the final stages of Alzheimers.  Also pray for her father, who is Uncle Paul's only surviving sibling.  He is having a tough time.

George....Jonathan did get a part time job ( 20-25 hours a week ) driving a bus for our church's daycare picking kids up from school and taking them to the daycare.    He is still seeking employment full time though so you can keep him on the prayer list if you would.   Also I am praying really hard that Shawn will decide to go to Teen Challenge ( which is in Midland/Odessa area ) for their rehab program.    He has relapsed 3 times in the 3 months since he got out of detox.   Please keep him in your prayers.   Thanks and we love you and Mary.   Have a great time saturday !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Glad Jonathan got something.  He has to stay aggressive looking for a job.  In today's economy, not many jobs fall at your feet.

Hey Geoge,

Would you please add my Uncle Paul to the list,  He has alzheimers and I believe is in the final stages.  He is in the Hospital now and unresponsive.  Also keep my Dad in prayer as this is his only living sibling and I worry about him.  Mom said it has been a rough day on him as well.  Thanks George I sure do appreciate all you and Mary do!  Hugs.  Michelle

Evenin' big bro....
Well, Sarah's tennis got rained out again this week so she will try again next Monday!  The two older girls just finished with practice before it started pouring.  We got home and the kids were like, "oooh, what's that smell"?  I had started a pot roast with potatoes, carrots, etc.   It smells phenomenal.  Of course the second I told them what it was, I saw the snubbed up noses from Heather and Sarah.  Oh well.  They can go find something on their own because I'm not going to be a short order cook!!!

I finally got my ankle-length compression garment and I think it has helped some with the knee swelling I've been having.  With the other one, the garment ended just past the knee so sort of acted like a tourniquet.  So glad it is cool out because I'd be sooo hot in any other weather!

Better run for now.  Need to get the table set for dinner.  I'll check back in with ya' later tonight!

You're a lot nicer than my mother was.  And I did what she did.  She cooked supper.  It was put in a bowl or on a plate in front of you.  You don't eat it, then you are making the choice to have it at your next meal.  No matter what anyone else has.  I remember one time my cousin was staying with us because her mother was in jail.  My mother made lentil soup for supper.  Susan did not eat it, so it was at her seat for breakfast the next morning.  She did not eat it again, so it was at her seat for lunch.  She finally took the hint.  In addition, if you did not eat what she served, you got no snacks.  No popcorn if we happened to have it that night.  Nothing.

Sarah and Heather ate the roast, but did so by putting it on a hamburger bun with ketchup.  Whatever, they ate it.  Neither of them would touch the carrots either.  Sarah loves potatoes of pretty much any kind so she ate a couple of roasted taters' but that was definitely a "no-go" for Heather.  She is mega-pickey.  Figure that will change once she hits college!

When I was a kid, we didn't have to eat the main meal, but, like you said, nothing else!  The worst for me was beef stew.  OMG, I absolutely HATE it....STILL!  That was a day I definitely left the table without eating but didn't care either!  Of course, the older we got the smarter we got, especially when we were old enough to drive.  I remember occasions of eating fast food on the way home so when the "you don't get anything else" rule kicked in, we didn't care!  Of course that led me to the problem I had requiring WLS...

I like beef stew, but have a hard time eating it since my dentures.  I get the feeling I am just mashing the beef instead of chewing it because of how soft it is.

Hi George -

Like you -   we all had a GREAT time at dinner and at the game on Tuesday evening.
gotta do it again......soon....

I need to request that I be added to the prayer list.................FB has put me back into contact with some friends / high school friends and some family that I forgot about in the past 20+ years...  With that having been said.....it has brought back some memories......some good -  some bad...............I'm scared.....................

suppose to be going to North Dakota this summer........mainly to see my dad (he's 75) - I haven't seen him in probably like 15 yrs - give or take...............then with that - we are corresponding this visit with an all -school reunion from Streeter Public School (when I attended it last in 1981)..
I went to this school from Kindergarden thru 8th grade -  moved to Oklahoma City for my Freshman year -  1979 - 1980 - (the BEST year of my life) and then back to ND for 1 year - my sophmore year  (1981-82) and then back to Oklahoma where I graduated from Choctaw High School in 1983.    Most of my high school was in ND where I'll be going.............I was the kid that was bullied through and alot................I was very nieve (spelled?) when I was young -  still not much better now..............lol           anyway -  I'm really nervous - scared and just don't know what to do.....................I AM GOING REGARDLESS..............I have bad memories up there.......but  .....I guess I need to face them and make them realize that I have grown up now and they are NOT gonna bully me anymore.........does that feeling ever go away?   Sometimes - I'm just mad about it when I hear of situations like that as an adult.......but don't know what to do about it

Getting to do nothing but data entry at job #3 - really makes me THINK alot on weekends and thinking back to the day..............

LUV you all........so that is what is and has been going on in my world the past 2-3 weeks...........I guess I've kinda been hiding a little................

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.
