CRUISE UPDATE- Feb 1st
BIG REMINDER- you've only got 19 days left to book your cruise. PLEASE let me know if your plans have changed and you're no longer going with us. We've already had a couple of people drop out. If you haven't signed up and would like to go-PLEASE join us. I have tons of cabins on hold so it's not a problem. ALSO-please let me know what TYPE of room you're planning on booking so I make sure we have enough of each on hold. (Oceanview, Inside or Balcony). If we book 16 rooms total (2 more than we have signed up) we will get a higher onboard discount. So ask around and see who else might want to go. They DO NOT have to of had WLS...friends, relatives, anyone can go.
Details are as follows:
Name of the Group: Texas Loser-(oops, he left off the "s" to make it plural)
Port City: Galveston
Sail Date: Sept 27th-Oct 2nd
Ship: Carnival Ecstacy
Booking number: 62P1C8
Phone number to call: 800-438-6744 EXT 80084 (RUBIN)
Rubin is there Mon-Wed 12:30-9PM and Fri-Sat 11-7:30pm (Off on Thurs and Sun).
You can call anytime and other people can book you with the above info but Rubin is MY go-to guy for questions and answers.
When you call:
1. Ask for the EARLY FUN SAVER rate for the cheapest rate BUT you must understand that NO changes can be made to the reservation once you book it. A $200 per person deposit is due the day you book it and final payment is due July 29th. They charge your credit card WHILE you're on the phone with them.
2. The FIRST person to book each room will need the FULL name of each person in your room. Then each person can call in seperately and book into that room under their own name. So if you're staying with a friend, figure out WHO's gonna call first and make sure that person knows the FULL NAME of each person in the room, what KIND of room you want (inside, outside, balcony) and WHICH dining time you want-early or late. (I chose early so I'd be hungry for the midnight buffet).
3. You can book anytime between today and Feb 19th. After Feb 19th they will release any extra rooms that are not filled. Also let me know of any changes as I booked 15 rooms-7 inside cabins, 7 outside cabins and one balcony (for Clay and I). If anyone else wants a balcony, you just need to tell them when you call.
4. I paid for TRAVEL INSURANCE when I booked mine. That way if I had a death in the family or there was a hurricaine, etc, I would get a full refund. Go online to www.carnival.com and read about the different pricing options and insurance that's available.
5. I also prepaid my tips so it's included in the total price of my cruise. They will ask you about that when you book as well.
6. He actually let me pick my cabin number off a deck plan. If you go to Carnival and then click on the ship name you can see the room locations. If you have a choice, pick a room in the center of the ship-much less chance of seasickness. I'm not sure if everyone gets to pick or not-it might just be cuz we got a balcony or cuz I'm heading it up.

YES I know..................I still really wanna come............................
I'm deciding if I want to make this committment after traveling to North Dakota this summer...I guess - with determination - ONE can do just about anything THEY WANT TO DO......
IN CASE MY DAUGHTER DOESN'T COME WITH ME ON THIS TRIP - ANYONE STILL LOOKING FOR A ROOMIE?
I would be doing the inside stateroom..........probably.....why pay extra $$ for a "view" when I don't plan on being in the room except to sleep - change clothes.........lol
- Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose. Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email. I'll answer it as soon as possible.
