Meggie, you have no need to apologize for saying what is real yesterday.  You have gone through so much and you never complain about it.  People need to know the pros and cons of wls!

Honey, your issues are not petty. This "for life" thin hits people in different ways and different times! Newbies and preops do need to be aware of this issue so we just gave them a whole facefull at once from several different perspectives! Take care of you, perspective is good!

Hey girl...if you can't vomit with your friends, who can you vomit with?!?

Seriously, you have no reason whatsoever to apologize for being HONEST!  Like others have said, newbies can read that it isn't always puppies and rainbows like we hope it always is.  You have unbelievable strength to go through what you have gone through.

Maintenance may be a bore, but it is 100% necessary to have continued success and the newbies have to understand that TEN TIMES OVER.  I sometimes don't think people realize how hard maintenance really is.  It is super scary to get on the scale and have it be up 5-7 pounds in a blink of an eye!  Obviously it's up to us to go back to the basics to get rid of those added pounds.

Here's hoping you have a very healthy and UNEVENTFUL year!!!

There is no need to apologize because we all know the risk we undertake by having WLS. I have had a couple of minor complications since my gastric bypass surgery.  I had a incision that got infected and be re-opened and then 4 weeks later had my gall bladder removed. It has only been the last two weeks I have been able to eat normal food. There are still times and things that I just can not eat.  It is a battle for me to try and eat the 1800 calorie diet and have yet come close to eating that amount. I struggle with getting all my vitamins in. Today, perfect example my car broke down and I did not have any of my vitamins or anything to snack on with me. It was about 8:40 when I was able to grab something to eat and took three bites and felt ill. I did not get a meal in me until about 1:30 P.M. A lot of people battle eating a healthy diet and right now I am trying to get my family to eat healthier. My inspiration is my children  in seeking to lose weight.  I look at everyone on the forum here are people like myself who have battled trying to lose weight and needed the help of WLS to be successful. It is a lifestyle change and just like other healthy people they too chose a healthy life style and have to struggle to keep it going. I agree with you we have a great many limitations and extra work we have to put into. I feel it is all worth it to be with my children as long as I can to help them grow into adulthood and beyond. I do not have any pictures of my self to show how big I was because I always avoided the camera and now I am not ashamed to have my picture taken. It is a tough job for us to watch what we eat, take our vitamins and supplements. Thank you for all the information you have shared and given us newbies like myself. As I am still early in my journey post WLS but I have to battle daily to make sure I follow through on my lifestyle changes. I am hoping  tomorrow to finally be able to get all my vitamins down for the first time since my surgery. I recently learned from post on the forum of a better calcium to take then what I was taking I ran out and bought the calcium this afternoon and took the first dosage. Again thank you all for providing us newbies with extremely useful information and advice.

Liquidman,
Hang in there honey, its all up from here. There is a learning curve and each of us is different. I keep non perishable snacks and water in the car always!! That part does get easier as you go along. Cheldren are a great inspiration and my grands are mine!! Stay with these guys and they will guide you along.

MEGGIE-ditto wgat everyone said. I have known you since back in your pre-op days when "those people" brought you into our group (bless them for THAT). I clearly remember how you FOUGHT for surgery, how Dirk Rodriguez left town and left you hanging, how you perservered on, etc, etc

You are MY HERO!! Now..that being said..vomit all you want...I'll be here with the basin!!

People need to know it ain't all fairy farts and rainbows all the time....sometimes there ARE complications, and NOBODY meets those hurdles with more courage than YOU--and our TOM, of course (I know you don't mind me lumping you in with HIM!)
