Dr Dirk Rodriguez's Patients

Dr. Dirk is the surgeon that I chose for my RNY after MANY years of research. In my personal opinion, I do not think I could have chosen a more caring or skilled surgeon. I am 5+ years post-op. The only issue that I have had since surgery is low iron, which could happen to any of us with the malabsorption issues that we have. He definitely saved my life, as I am sure we all feel the same about the surgeon we chose.
Yes, Dr. Dirk did move his surgical expertise to another state. He did NOT do this without informing his patients, (atleast I know I was informed of his transition.) I am sure that Dr. Dirk chose this move for an advancement of his career, (as I am sure any of us would have done the same...) I would use Dr. Dirk OVER and OVER again, as I have that much respect and confidence in his surgical expertise.
I would be more than happy to talk to your sister about Dr. Dirk.

I was one of Dr. Dirk's patients in Ohio and I can tell you that he is the BEST! He has done 3 surgeries on me. The first was the sleeve. The second was emrgency surgery do to a fluke with my sleep apnea and the third was gallbladder. I survived all three without a problem and have lost over 200 pounds. He is extremely supportive and caring. He will go out of his way to help you. He will, however, let you know when you need to improve on you program. He cares about your overall health and not just your weight loss. I can tell you that if I needed more surgery and knew that he would do it, I would fly down to Dallas without even thinking about. As it was, I travelled regularly from Columbus to Cincinnati to see him.
