Hello my name is Michelle
I'm new to this whole process we just started the request for the lap band. I've been weighed and had my blood drawn and now am waiting on approval from tri-care .. if anyone can give me an idea of how long it will be or what the process is i surely would appreciate it!!
I'm really excited about everything and can't get this surgery done fast enough!

Each insurance company is different and each have their own requirements for you to meet prior to approving weight loss surgery. I have United Health Care who manages my company's owned insurance. I was lucky and it took me only 3 weeks to get approval. I have a friend whose insurance denied him after 6 months of jumping through hoops and having several co-morbidities. I am sure someone on the forum can give you a better answer.Welcome to the Texas forum a great place  for support.
