Good afternoon all.  Things going good in my house today.

Mary took the car in to have some recall work done on it.  It did not take her long at all and they even washed the car!

When Mary got home, Phyllis' brother came over and looked at the washing machine.  He took off the part that needs to be replaced and gave it to Mary.  She is going to go get it tomorrow and he will fix it.  I love my OH friends and family!

Mary, as usual, also found time to make my lunch for today and also cook up lunches for the week.  I am a lucky man!

Pray for Jenn R. and Eric.  Please.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  & SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Two trips to the laundromat in two weeks.  Not bad, since there is just two of us.  Due to how short an amount of time it takes, it is sometimes tempting to just do the laundromat thing.

Thank you.   My work week started January 17th at my full time job and will continue until February 2nd (my next night off).  I took that night off to go to the Stars game.  And those hours are just the full time job.  I did 34 hours at the part time job last week, in addition to the 59 at the full time.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hey there George...
Just checkin' in before I try to catch a few winks.  Trying to just deal with a few ouch spots on the incisions but aside of that, not horrible.  I know when I've been up too long.  Had to order a new garment that goes down to the ankle instead of stopping just past the knee.  Too much fluid build-up around the knee using that style so the therapist lady said to try a longer-length garment so that's what I ordered.

My parents have been here for almost four weeks.  My dad and V did not see eye to eye yesterday.  Actually was more of an interpretive thing.  I know how V talks and unfortunately for her, she sometimes comes across as rude - not because of WHAT she says, but HOW she says it.  Dad was helping out with painting the athletic signs for the yard that shows both girls are in tennis.  We could have just bought them from the booster club at $15 each but the templates they use are so "primitive" and blah so we did our own.  Dad decided to paint a tennis ball above the two crossed racquets and decided that a replicated ball needed to also have the brand name of "PENN" on the ball (which was just the brand of ball he happened to grab).  It wasn't needed but hey, whatever, it really didn't matter.  He was working on Heather's sign when V saw it and in the most wrong of tone apparently told him, "Don't put PENN on mine" or something to that effect.  I wasn't there so didn't hear it.  V said she didn't say it like that but as I told her, "you know you DO tend to say things sarcastically just to your dad and I have to correct you so maybe you did say it in a tone that wasn't the best and instead of saying, "DON'T put..." you should have POLITELY said, "Grandpa, would it be ok if just the ball were painted with no brand name"?  I told her that would have just been a better choice of words and not so demanding.  She's a kid and kids make mistakes.  What I WAS disappointed in was how she got through the awkwardness of thanking him after the fact when she got home and told him how nice they were and he refused to even answer her.  Later on when she came in my office and told me she said something to him and he didn't respond, I just told her I knew she had told him that she appreciated them and I didn't think it was right for him to not even acknowledge the compliment, regardless of the earlier situation.  Unfortunately my dad can be horribly stubborn.  I just hate nor WANT to take sides.  He was definitely in a bad mood!!!  UGH.

Alright, guess I need to go catch some shut-eye...  TTYL...

Well, I know one thing where you and I are different.  I have no problems taking sides.  LOL.  If my mother-in-law was still alive, you could ask her.  I always took sides in what I believed was right when dealing with her.  Sometimes on her side, but more often than not not one her side.  And I know MIL is not the same as parent.  But then again that may be why I don't talk much to my parents.  I know with family, it is not the most popular thing to do, but if I wanted to be popular....

Another thing I told my kids, no matter what tone you use, the word please blocks out the tone to a lot of people.  I don't know, she may have said Please don't put Penn on mine.  But if she did not, that may have helped.

It's tough dealing with stubborn people.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
