We Can Do Hard Things

Good morning all! Gotta get out the door soon, so, if I wanted to post on the train, figured I was going to have to throw the coal in first and get it on the track. I hope that means ALISSA and MICHELLE are getting to sleep in this morning-good for them!

I worked a Hospice one-on-one case 12n-8pm yesterday, and am going back for 8am-8pm today. So sad-60 y/o man with rectal cancer-he has had nothing bu****er since Nov 11th-refused to have a feeding tube-has lost over 100 lbs since then-VERY hard to lose weight quickly-I sure don't recommend it. He has a very large family, with lots of tradition/ethnic culture involved...including "Let's see how often we can feed that big white girl nurse". They appreciate what is being done for their family member, so they want take care of YOU the only way they know how-with FOOD. I want to hang a sign around my neck "Please don't feed the nurse". I did manage to forgo the REALLY tough stuff by telling them I was Diabetic-but that didn't stop the fresh/hot/homemade tortillas from coming at me!! I see "nothing but shakes" in my near future..lol..back to my "real job that pays the bills" tomorrow, where nobody offers me nuthin' !

I won't have computer, etc today, so, if anything important happens, someone plese text me. If I don't respond back right away it'll be because I'm with my patient-or eating!!

Prayers all around=our Father knows exactly where to bestow them.

I LOVE Y'ALL AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!

Good Morning Gina and the rest of my TMB Family,

WoooooHooooo so nice to see Gina driving the train.  Does not happen very often.  Yes I did sleep in this mornig till 7.  Was up till 10 last night off and on. Poor Tim I really wanted to watch a movie with him and just visit, but starting about 8:30 I dosed off and on in my chair till I finally went to bed.  Of course getting up this late forgoes all my "me" time cause Eric is up and rareing to go.  Makes me a grumpy camper.  Tim and Jon are still sleeping but I am guessing they will be up soon because Eric does not know what an inside voice is.   They are planning on leaving around noon, as Tim has to go to work.  It was a very short visit this time but I am so greatfull that Tim took the time to come and see me.  Gina, I can only imagine how hard it is to say no to all that food but good for you for doing it.    Ok need more coffee.  Prayers this morning to Jenny nd Eric and our Meggie.  Also prayers for the unspoken.  Have a blessed day.  Love you guys.

Good morning. I was up -woke at 3, dozed back off till 5 and then I started watching Mama Mia on our free 3 months of HBO. I just didn't on the computer until now because I was hoping I'd doze back off. Oh well, nappy time might be in the future. I hope today is a lazy day around the house. Maybe go see a movie or rent one. I have The Bucket List taped off tv.

I worked yesterday at the library and then came home and I was SO sleepy and tired but couldn't fall asleep so I rested while watching a few House Hunters with Bryan and then we went on date night- to Wal-Mart! Aren't we the fun loving couple? lol. It was nice to go without hearing the prices of toys Chris wants and him begging for one! Then Bryan took me to Yogurt Story. Man, if you're near Roanoke or Denton you might stop in. The have a NSA strawberry that is wonderful-esp with fresh strawberries and bananas on it.

Jenny- is this week chemo week or next? Call me if you want to do something later today-maybe go eat some frozen yogurt. lol.

Meggie-hope you get to go home soon, but don't ru**** we want you to be home for good this time!

Gina-don't work too hard!

Michelle- have a good 1/2 day with the boys. They'll be back soon I'm sure. How's the back? Any luck with the pain stuff?

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Alissa

Thanks for asking about the back.  The lanacane patches work really well but they are 12 hours on and 12hours off.  After talking with a couple of people here and the pain management doctor I decided to go ahead and try the Ultram ER.  They have not given me a problem so far (knock on wood).  I do find mysel having to take an extra one (Not ER) before I go to bed at night.  As long as I dont stand in one place for very long I seem to be ok.  I go back to see him on the 2nd an we will set up or a shot on that day.  Anyway...Glad you and Bryan got a date night.  Even if it was just to Walmart...Mark and I love to do that, and we spend hours just wondering around and looking at things and talking.  If its not Walmart it is Best Buy.  Ok well I am waiting on the boys to get up.  Soon I hope.  Have a great day!

Good morning train riders.  So nice to wake up to see that Gina's driving today.  Her posts always make me smile.  I can just see those people shoving food at her-Lord knows I have enough relatives that are the same way.

I REALLY thought I was going to have to work today.  I called last night and they told me "more than likely" since it was crazy busy.  Apparently there was a nurse from another part of the hospital that was "short" on hours and she was a LOT cheaper than paying me overtime.  Darn, I was really looking forward to making a bunch of money today.

I'm selling my Mom's car to Hailey's BF today providing he got insurance yesterday.  He did get hired on full time by the company he's been doing temp work for so that's a positive sign.  He's also been paying me $200/week towards current and BACK rent that he owes us.

Prayers for our Meggie who's STILL in the hospital recovering and to Vivian for doing the right thing, although it was very hard.

good morning.  I slept in until almost 7 and it felt great to get 8 hrs sleep.  We're going to SS and church this morning.  I will pull out the sewing machine and work on Ben's quilt this afternoon and maybe take a nap.  Later we will go to my sister's for my nephew Austin's 18th birthday dinner.  Today is his birthday.  My sister has been in dallas with BIL at a dental convention since Thursday and is just coming home today, therefore dinner instead of lunch!

Prayers for all who need them.

Have a great Sunday. Enjoy the little weekend that is left.

Good morning Train Riders!  Wow, I was totally dressed inappropriately to take the dogs out this morning.  Yesterday was so pleasant and I didn't listen to the news, so I was just a bit COLD with the wind.  I'll definitely be changing my church outfit now.

I met up with some of the ladies at IKEA yesterday and we got a good start on the Shopping Fair in Mar for Eric.  It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun!  Then yesterday afternoon Jeff and I played a new game we got for Christmas.  Get this, it's NOT a computer game!  LOL. It's a board game called Ticket to Ride.  We played twice, I won once and Jeff won once.  We had a great time, and I reminded me that we can have fun off the computer too.

Today we've got church and I think the elders might release the 2010 budget and what changes we're going to have to make to survive.  I'm not looking forward to it because it very realistically could mean us losing some of our ministers.

Please say some prayers for my brother and SIL today.  They are heading to the hospital to do their second round of IVF.  They've been trying to have a baby for going on 4 years and already did 1 round of IVF last year with no positive results.  It's a lot of stress for them, and I'm hoping and praying this round is successful.  They will have to wait 2 weeks to find out if it worked and I know that will be super hard for them.

Ok, off to get into some warmer clothes and make some coffee!  Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Debbi,

I've been playing Ticket To Ride for years.  We have the expansion and the other countries, too.  They are great, aren't they?  Two off the top, please.
