Vitamins & Minerals ~ Basic Info
Sharyn, I completely agree and so does the article about needing D3 instead of D2. It talks about needing the D3 in gelcap form. Heck if I understand it all, lol. Here's the link

2 years ago another doctor had put me on the RX Vit D gel caps...was taking a 50,000 IU gel cap a week and it did nothing for me (I also have pernicious anemia so already have malabsorption issues)...
the new sub linqual drops did the trick and it's OTC.
Name: Bio-D-Mulsion Forte by Biotics Research.
For me I have to take 3 drops under the tongue daily.
The bottle costs $20 and so far has lasted me 8 months!

My doctor is extremely picky and careful when it comes to OTC stuff so keep that in mind when searching for comprable drops.....
Biotics Research Corp in Rosenberg, Tx is where mine is made...
Cheers, Tee
I just checked my last Vit D labs and it was 80. I take a 5000 mg capsule of Dry D3 from Vitalady once a week. I also work outdoors part of the time so that probably helps also.
I don't completely agree with the gelcap theory that we can't break it down because my stool softeners are gel caps and they definitely work. Or let me say...... I can tell if I missed a dose
One thing is certain - all of us are different in how we absorb nutrients. I have 2 friends who are 6 years out RNY. One has to take B-12 shots, the other quit supplementing her B-12 over 4 years ago and she swore her B-12 was always on the high end. I just couldn't believe it and asked to see her latest labs and she is correct.
I have to take iron even though I am post-menopausal and eat red meat and some do not have to take it at all.
